Miley stood by the food table, surveying the picnic and other food that was sitting out. She kept looking up from it once and awhile to look at the crowd milling about. “Tessa isn’t here.” Kelsi said, walking over.

“I wasn’t looking for Tessa.” Miley said.

“Sure you weren’t.” Kelsi said, chuckling a little.

“I haven’t seen the Jonas family yet.” Miley pointed out.

“I’m sure they’re here somewhere.” Kelsi said, as she started to walk off.

“They aren’t here yet, are they?” Miley asked, as Kelsi stopped and came back over.

“No, they aren’t.” Kelsi replied, leaning up against the table with Miley.

“Kevin invited Tessa, didn’t he?” Miley asked.

“Yeah.” Kelsi answered. “She’s riding over with them in Kevin’s new Camry he got.”

            “Great.” Miley mumbled.

“But I thought you didn’t like him.” Kelsi asked, raising an eyebrow at her friend.

“I don’t.” Miley quickly replied. “But I don’t want to deal with Tessa.”

“Uh huh.” Kelsi said, as noticed Kevin and Joe walk in with their younger brothers Nick and Frankie, along with Tessa. “You might want to figure out how you’re going to avoid her because they’re here.”

“Happy birthday you two.” Nick Jonas said, coming over and hugging the two girls.

“Thanks Nick.” Kelsi said, as Frankie hugged them next.

“Kelsi, Miley, happy birthday.” Tessa said. Kelsi elbowed Miley, who plastered a smile on her face.

“I’m so glad you were able to make it tonight Tessa.” Kelsi said.

“I couldn’t remember, did we send you and invitation?” Miley asked.

            “Kevin invited me.” Tessa said.

“Oh really?” Miley asked, turning her attention to Kevin. “And did he bother telling the rest of us so that we wouldn’t think you were crashing the party?”

“I’m sorry. I thought you guys wouldn’t mind after the Simon incident last year.” Kevin replied.

Miley opened her mouth to say something in response but Kelsi stuck a popcorn ball in before Miley could say anything.

“Why don’t you guys go and check out the play stuff over there for Frankie.” Kelsi suggested, motioning to a spot by the stage.

“Yeah, that might be a good idea.” Joe said, as the Jonas group walked off.

“What the heck is up?” Kelsi said, turning her attention to Miley. She had started munching on the popcorn ball with a smug look on her face.

“Nothing.” Miley replied in between bites.

“You just nearly attacked Tessa.” Kelsi said.

            “She wasn’t invited.” Miley said.

“Kevin invited her.” Kelsi informed her. “It is his birthday party too.”

“Yeah, and it’s ours too. He should have made sure that we were okay with her showing up.” Miley replied.

“You invited Simon like five minutes before the party last year! Kevin had Tessa invited for like a week.” Kelsi tossed back.

“Why does everyone keep bringing up the Simon incident all of a sudden?” Miley asked. “I said I was sorry.”

Kelsi smiled. “You like him.” She stated.

            “What?” Miley asked, surprised.

“You like Kevin. That’s why this whole Tessa thing is annoying you.” Kelsi informed Miley.

“I do not like Kevin!” Miley exclaimed.

“Oh right, you love him!” Kelsi taunted.

“No I don’t! I do not have any feelings for Kevin besides friendship.” Miley said rather loudly. “What’s with the bowl of cooked spaghetti noodles?” She asked, looking at the table by her hand.

“Don’t change the subject from you and Kevin!” Kelsi reprimanded. “And my mom made them for some unknown reason.”

“Now comes the best part of the party, and I know it’s the part you all look forward to. I’m Kevin, and these are my brothers Nick and Joe, and we are going to perform for you.” Kevin said, as the three brothers climbed onto the stage.

“Miley, I’m sorry about earlier.” Tessa started a she gracefully walked over to Miley and Kelsi. “If I had known you didn’t want me here without an invitation…”

“Save it.” Miley quickly cut in. “We’re about to go onstage in a sec, once Kevin stops being his long winded self.”

            “Ah, Miley…” Kelsi started.

“So, we’re going to do a song and we’re going to joined by a friend.” Kevin said.

“A friend? Just one of us?” Miley asked, as Kevin turned to the group of three girls.

“Tessa Kent.” Kevin finished, as Miley’s mouth dropped open.

Tessa started walking towards the stage but stopped when she felt something cold and slimy hit her. She turned and saw Miley holding a handful of spaghetti noodles in her hand. “I don’t think that was what my mom had planned for those.” Kelsi said, her hands covering her mouth in surprise.

“What did you do?” Tessa asked, coming back over to the two girls.

“Wow. That blonde must really go deep.” Miley said. “I did this.” She added, tossing her handful of spaghetti at Tessa.

“Melinda Meade!” Tessa said, grabbing a handful of the baked beans sitting out and threw them at Miley.
