Inspiring Travels

Here are some of the photos I have taken over the years,

inspired by a creative and critical eye.

This shot was taken in Bellow's Falls, VT.  I was touring Vermont to get a look at some of the tiny, quiet towns grown quieter with the recession of industry.  I was standing outside the window... and what great results!

Here is Boston, by far my favorite capital.  This was taken from a boat, a "sunset cruise".  The boat was shaped like a cracker box and quite a disappointment, but I would not have traded this shot for anything!

This is the French Quarter in New Orleans, one of  the first stops Danielle and I made on our "epic" journey.  The whole city is inspiring... but also highly photographed, and who wants to be a cliche?

This was taken in Tucson, AZ; (stop #2)  it is Danielle's brother's cat... he makes a great silhouette.
Sedona, Arizona has some amazing red rock formations; this one is by far my favorite, the Coffee Pot Rock.  It is shaped like an old coffee carafe!  It even has, approprietly enough, a breakfast restaurant called Coffee Pot Restaurant, which has this monument looming above it!
This was taken on the coast of California, in Mendocino.  A very rough and beautiful shore.
And here is a winery we saw on the way... beauty and free wine, did we die and go to heaven?
I went alone to see the redwoods.  When you stand beneath them, you feel so small yet blessed.  I had to hike through small trees to see the big grandmas, and when I rounded the corner for a first full vision of the amazing trees, I actually started to cry, it was that beautiful.  I admit I am a tree hugger.  Trees like to be hugged!
Here are some dunes and sand in Death Valley.  It is where the dunes are that it is the hottest, being the lowest elevation, a few hundred feet below sea level.  I stayed out on those dunes until the darkness came and the moon rose.  How incredible, that place!
I was in Santa Monica, Venice, and Malibu for a few days.  The whole area stayed foggy until almost precisely noon, most days.  I loved the opportunities for mystery and elegance.
This is the painted desert, which is near the Petrified Forest in Arizona.  It really is painted, much like Death Valley is!
And here is my beloved East Coast.  This light house is in Salem, Massachusetts.
