August 10, 2002 1:01pm Grrr. I'm working on a weekend. Well, its really not that bad. I'm checking in bikes and there's a big lapse in between bikers so I have time to sit and relax. I went to my old house to finish cleaning and stuff but I felt very odd being there. I knocked first and no one answered then I used my key. Well, I stepped in and called for Kirsten, no one answered. Then I heard the shower, the door was wide open. I decided to go back to work and call her from there to let her know I was coming (I didn't want anyone to walk out buck naked creating a very embarrassing situation). So here I am back at work with nother really to do. My life is boring at the moment. I wish I was at the lake, at least I would be getting a tan and be able to swim. Not too many days left for that. For some reason I feel cheated out of a summer. Sure I was able to swim (not nearly enough though) and tan a bit, but as a child I would spend a week at the lake plus a few weekends. My tan rivaled a native americans natural skin color (so much so that I was often mistaken for one).I could run through the sprinkler and act like a crazy kid without being frowned upon. Now, after growing into a responsible adult, I work long hours cutting into my time to relive my childhood. Not that I don't act childish now and then, but I love to reflect on an easier time in my life, daydreaming of waterfights and kool-aid stands. I wonder what people would think if they saw a group of young folk selling lemonaide along the road side. Gotta go ~~ I'll write again later.

August 6, 2002 4:53pm Whew! What a day! I think I will be one very happy person when the rally is over. It took Cherry and I over 20 minutes to get from my work to the end of 8th st. GRRR. Bikers! Anyway, today I learned how to check in motorcycles~~ this is a very detailed job. I have to go over every inch of the bike checking for scratches, dents, or scuffs. Bikers get pretty touchy when you spend 30-40 minutes marking all the scratches on our detail sheet. Its personal to them. Well, its personal to me too: I don't want to pay for a stinkin' $2000 paint job for a scratch that I missed because of their bullying. I mentioned a few days before that I am a procrastinator when it came to packing. I've found that I'm the same with unpacking too. Wouldn't it be nice to be like Mary Poppins and snap everything into place. I wouldn't mind singing the song while I'm doing it, if snapping would clean up for me! Everything would be a snap (a loud groan for bad pun). Okay okay, enough with the silliness. I guess I'll just have to buckle down and make myself do it. Well, other than the business at my job nothing really exciting has happened. Not really anyway. I enjoyed watching the lightening storm last night from the vantage point of my bed. I had just turned out the light, crawled wearily into bed and got comfortable when my room lit up. I thought Cherry was playing a joke on me until I realized that it was only God's incredible display power. Strangely enough I felt peace & comfort when I finally fell asleep. A big plus that my alarm was still working in the morning (no power outage)! Well all have wonderful day and stay out of the way of angry bikers!

August 4, 2002 6:42pm I really don't feel like being at work right now. I should be unpacking but at the same time the chance to make up hours and get a full paycheck is very appealing. There isn't too much office work to get done so I had to shred, a very dirty job. Shredding is actually quite fun for me. It doesn't require much brain power and gives me plenty of time to think and daydream. At the moment the bailer is on the fritz (or full) and I'm stuck for a bit. I've been kind of grumpy lately. In fact today I was short with a customer who was picking up his bike be cause he didn't make an appointment. Grrr. He was from New York and was rude which doesn't excuse me from my rudeness in return. Of course part of my irritation was due to a coworker scaring the daylights out of me causing me to jump and dump oil on my favorite tank top. Its ruined. Grrr. Oh well, its my fault for wearing it to work in the first place. I guess I'll just have to go shopping to replace it ;o).

August 3, 2002 8:47am Moving day has come and gone and I have survived with only a few bumps and bruises. Our house is coming together quite nicely. Please come by and visit sometime (just ignore the boxes). Last night IV started their retreat at Angorstura lake. We decided to go on a late night swim. You could tell the lake was down a considerable amount as we walked along the beach. A few brave souls who made it to the beach first took off and ran to the water, much to their surprise they sunk knee deep into mud! Nastiness!I walked out there with Kristi cheering me on and almost turned back 5 times~ it was the most disgusting thing I have ever felt in my life. Seriously, mud was up to my knees. And it wasn't just smooth mud, either. No, this was chunky mud (I think that there is actually freshwater clams in this lake. Kristi encouraged me to float after a certain point. I couldn't bring myself to do it. I have a problem floating knowing that every stroke would make me come in contact with goopy mud! Of course I survived but not with out my fair share of screams and eewws, what can I say...I'm a wuss! Anyway, I had to leave early to go to work, but I'm heading back at 2pm. I will brave the knee deep mud again! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, a little fishy swam by my leg touching my toes~ there's an erie feeling for you. Keith isn't too fond of having fish swim by him either (that was kind of humorous). Well, I must get to work. Have a wonderful, fun filled day!
