SUMMARY: This thought just popped into my head, read it if you want I just needed to type it out to see where it would go. My first real AU so, give me a break if it sucks. Angel and Spike are high school students at a really... interesting school located on a Hell Mouth. Angel moves to town with his slayer mom, Buffy and meets Spike, whose mom is also a slayer and just happens to be Faith. They later find out that their mothers are sworn enemies, dun, dun, dun.

Angel snapped his gum loudly and snickered under his breath as his mom rolled her eyes. He did it again and this time she snapped. “Liam, stop.” She said firmly, looking back at the map in her hands. “If you keep doing that your gonna get us lost.”

It was Angel’s turn to roll his eyes. “Fer the last time ma, me name is Angel and just for the record, we’re already lost. Can I just skip the first day?”

Her green eyes glared at him. “Don’t snap your gum again, Angel and don’t put your feet on the dash board.” She used the map she was holding to swat his feet off of it then looked back at the road.

Angel rolled his eyes and looked out the window, his head leaning against the fogged up glass, it was raining. Angel hated the rain, bad things always happened when it rained.

Liam Angelus was born in Galway Ireland where his father had lived all his life. His mom, Buffy Summers, was a slayer sent to Galway by the Watcher’s Council when she was fifteen. His father’s name was Liam as well and he and his mother fell in love instantly and got married after Buffy had their only child at sixteen, Liam Jr. The Angelus family owned a tavern called Angel’s. It was the best place in town, it had the softest beds, the best food and the greatest liquor in Ireland.

The family was pretty much set for life, Liam was five when his father inherited the tavern from his grandfather, Bryan Angelus. When Liam was ten, that all changed. A crazed vampire that had been living in town was after Buffy in a bad way. Her name was Darla and she was as insane as they come. One night she set fire to the tavern, Liam’s mom had got mostly everyone out safely but his dad was still trapped inside. She went back in for him and all she found was a charred body, he had been in the wine cellar when the fire had started, he was dead instantly when the flames hit the wine barrels.

All Liam Jr. could remember from that night was fire, being pulled from his room by his mother then rain. That’s why he hated the rain, it was the last memory he had of his father’s death, rain. About a year after the fire the Council sent Buffy to Cleveland, there was a Hell Mouth there but it was closed now thanks to her. Just a month before the Council had decided to move the slayer to another Hell Mouth, this one was in California, Sunnydale to be exact.

Now it was Angel’s first day at his new high school, Sunnyhell high, as he liked to call it. He was fifteen and in the tenth grade, he couldn’t wait to be the new weird kid as he had been back in Cleveland. As he looked out the window, Angel thought of who would start to make fun of him first, the jocks, the drama club, or the ever popular, popular kids.

Angel had always been the odd man out, ever since they left Ireland. He was too sullen and broody to fit in with anyone, so he just chose to be an outcast. The accent didn’t help much either. He suddenly heard his mom squeal with joy as they pulled up in front of a large building, they had found the high school.

“I found it!” She smiled happily.

Angel sighed. “Unfortunately.” He turned around and grabbed his bag out of the back seat. He then opened the car door and put the bag over his head to block the rain. He gave his mom on last kiss on the cheek. “Bye ma, see you at three.” He jumped out of the car and ran towards the school.

Once Angel was inside, he put the shoulder strap of his Hot Topic messenger bag around his head and looked around. His eyes scanned the hallway, he saw many hot girls and boys and licked his lips. Angel was dieing for a good shag, he hadn’t had one since they left Cleveland.

He was about to attempt to find his new classes when a cheerful voice began to speak to him. “Hi, I’m Cordelia Chase.” The voice said as a hand placed it’s self on his shoulder. Angel turned around to see what the girl looked like, she was quite hot. This Cordelia had long brown, slightly curly hair and a bright smile. She was dressed head to toe in designer clothes and Angel sighed, she was popular.

“Er... hi.” Angel said weakly.

He looked at the other people standing behind her, several equally hot girls and some very attractive boys flanked her, yep, she was popular. She spoke again. “You must be new, what’s your name?”

“Angel” He said, the girl shrieked suddenly.

“Oh my god you have an accent? That is so cool.” She smiled, hooking her arm with his as they began to walk down the hall. “Where are you from?”

“Well, I...er grew up in Ireland, then me an’ my ma moved out to Cleveland, then here.” He said, trying to cover his accent as much as possible.

She giggled, as did the rest of the people behind her. “That is so cool! So how’d you get a name like Angel?”

“It was my da’s nickname.” Angel answered, he was getting more uncomfortable by the minute. This girl was starting to be worse than any demon.

“That is so cool.” She smiled. “We don’t get a lot of new kids here, much less new kids with sexy accents. Well, there is this one kid but he’s way weird, I’ll point him out so you can avoid him. Do you need help finding your classes?”

Angel was starting to think this girl was a vampire, mostly because she had said that all in one breath. He was about to decline her offer when a platinum blonde head caught his eye. He stopped suddenly to stare at the boy standing at a nearby locker. Angel could only see the side of his face, but it was enough. Sharp cheekbones pointed down to an oh so kissable, full lipped mouth. The rest of him was pail, creamy skin, hid underneath a few layers of black clothing and red plaid bondage pants. His bleached blonde hair was in spiky disarray that made him that much more desirable. And to top it all off, he was wearing eyeliner, Angel was in hot guy heaven.

“Who’s that?” Angel asked breathily.

Cordelia rolled her eyes. “That’s the kid I was talking about. You don’t want be seen with him, not if you want to be seen with me.”

She giggled slightly, tossing her hair in a manner she probably thought was sexy. Angel ignored the girl and pulled his arm away from her vice grip. “You know what, I’m gonna find my classes by me self, thanks fer the offer darlin’.” He began to walk over to the boy when her hand on his arm stopped him.

“Are you seriously blowing me off for him? What are you gay?” She said loudly, her voice going up an octave or two at the end.

“Bi actually.” Angel said casually, pushing her hand off his arm and walking over to the boy. “Hi.” He said, his voice cracking slightly out of nervousness.

The boy looked up at Angel. His eyes widened and the black sharpie marker clutched in his teeth fell to the floor. “Hi.” He said back, his beautiful cockney accent presenting it’s self immediately.

Angel cleared his throat and spoke again. “I heard you were a fellow countrymen and just had to meet ya.” He extended his hand. “I’m Angel.”

The boy stood up and shook the offered hand, Angel caught a glimpse of his nails and almost melted, he was wearing black nail polish. “I’m Spike.” He said.

“Cool name.” Angel smiled. He suddenly looked down at his own clothes, he was wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans. He looked like a prep, he was going to kill his mother for making his dress nice. Angel looked back up at Spike. “I don’t normally dress like this, me ma wanted me to look nice fer me first day.”

Spike laughed slightly. “That’s good to hear mate. No wonder Cordelia was attracted to you.” He let go of Angel’s hand and turned back to his locker.

He started to pile books into his Hot Topic messenger bag. Angel looked down and nearly died, they had almost the same bag! The only difference was color, his own was camouflage while Spike’s was black and red. Was this boy perfect or what? The only thing missing was him being bi or gay, but then again that was a one and a million chance, especially in this town.

“So, I was wondering, if you could help me find me classes, just fer today, I can find em on me own tomorrow.” Angel asked casually.

“Sure.” Spike smiled, shutting his locker and turning to Angel. “Let me see your schedule.” Angel held back a laugh when he heard the blonde say schedule. He had said it in a stiff upper crust British accent, totally unlike his cockney one.

Angel dug through his bag and pulled out the sheet of paper with his class list on it. When Spike saw it his eyes went wide. “What is it?” Angel asked.

Spike looked up at him. “It’s exactly the same as mine, is that weird or what?”

Angel’s heart leapt, they were in all the same classes! It was fate. “Interestin’.” He said, trying to hide his excitement. “Oh, come to think of it, I need help findin’ me locker as well.”

Angel handed the other boy another slip of paper that had his locker number and combination on it. “This is gettin’ weird mate, it’s right next to mine.”

He pointed to a red locker right next to his own. Angel nearly died. He would see this boy every minute of every day! This was the best thing ever to happen to him! “Wow, isn’t that somethin’.” Angel said calmly, even though his heart was doing back flips in his chest. “So, where’s our first class?”

“This way.” Spike pointed down the hall and he and Angel walked to class. During history class they sat in the back and swapped stories. As it turned out Spike was from England and him, his mom and his half brother moved out here two years ago. At lunch Angel sat with Spike’s friends, the so-called losers of the school.

There was Fred, a shy brunet girl who also happened to be wickedly smart and her boy friend, Wesley, who also happened to be Spike’s half brother. There was a black boy named Gunn, who was very nice despite his mean look and a loud obnoxious boy with green hair name Lorne. Lorne took to Angel right away and started calling him Angelcakes, Angel had taken offence to it at first until Spike explained that it was just his was of saying welcome, apparently they all had nicknames courtesy of Lorne.

Two of Spike other friends were Willow and Xander. Willow was a very powerful witch and Xander was her boy friend. According to Spike, they all hung out in the library a lot, the librarian, Mr. Giles, was from England as well. All in all, Spike’s friends were really nice, Angel thought he was finally going to fit in here.

Angel was half way through eating his turkey sandwich when a cold shiver ran down his spine. He turned to see a mean looking blonde girl sitting at the popular table. “Who- who is that?” Angel asked shakily.

“Oh, her.” Spike rolled his eyes. “That’s Darla, she’s the most popular girl in school, Cordelia and Harmony are her best friends.”

“D-Darla.” Angel’s voice cracked as he swallowed hard.

“You alright mate?” Spike asked, touching him on the shoulder.

Angle was shook out of his trance and turned back to face his new friends. “It’s nothing, just a woman back in Erie that was named Darla, didn’t care for her much.”

Spike nodded then returned to his lunch. At the end of the day, when it had finally stopped raining, Spike walked Angel out to wait for his mom. “So listen...” Spike said, looking down at the ground and shuffling his feet nervously. “If you aren’t doin’ anything tonight me an’ the gang are going out to the Bronze, it’s the only cool place in town. You want to come? I could pick you up.”

Angel blushed. “Are ya askin’ me out?”

Spike blushed, ducking his head. “Maybe, if you’re into that. If yer not then I understand an’ I’m, sorry...”

“I’m inta it.” Angel said, cutting him off. “I’m very inta it.”

Angel smiled and Spike smiled back. “Okay then, I’ll come by ‘round seven?”

“Yeah, see ya then.” Angel was about to say something more when his mother pulled up in her silver SUV. “Damn.” He swore under his breath. “I’ll see ya then.”

“Yeah, see ya then.” Spike smiled.

“Bye.” Angel said quickly then opened the door to his mom’s car and hopped in. He waved at Spike as the car pulled away from the school.

When the car was out of sight Angel cheered under his breath. “Yes!” He smiled.

“Someone’s in a good mood.” His mother smiled back. “Who was that?”

“Spike, he’s a new... friend.” Angel smirked at the word friend.

His mom quirked an eyebrow. “I think he’s more than a friend. Common, tell me.” She nudged her son’s arm.

“Well, he asked me out fer tonight.” Angel smirked. His mother smirked back.

“See, I told you that school wouldn’t be that bad.” She turned to look at the road. “And since you had such a good day and didn’t get kicked out, I’ll let you listen to that radio station you like so much.” Her hand moved to the radio and turned it to the heavy metal/ punk rock station. Angel smiled, this had been the best day ever and he couldn’t wait for tonight.

So what do you think? The next chapter will be Spike’s day, his thoughts and what happened after Angel left. Reviews please.

P.S. Erie is the Gaelic name for Ireland, just F.Y.I.
