SUMMARY: A Demonic Warlock has in secret become more powerful than anyone ever imagined. Problems, he wants to have control of the world and wants a mate. He sees Spike and won't stop until he gets him [SLASH] AngelSpike

'PURE EVIL' CLUB:

"Mr.Angel. Welcome to my humble abode" Kaden spoke as he swiveled his chair around to face his visitors.

"I take it by the look smeared across your face and the weapons in which your comrads are holding that this is far from a social visit" Kaden said as he watched in amusement as a group of men clad in uniforms held the smallest of weapons, that of which would inflict the least harm, and tried their best to make themselves look intimidating.

"You robbed me earlier and I want to know what was taken and why. You see, I don't like people taking my things" Kaden looked at Angel with an expression of boredom at his words before he sighed and stood up from his chair.

"Really? And here I thought you were here because I had taken an interest in that pretty boy of yours" Kaden responded cooly, enjoying the rage that flickered across Angels face.

Wesley and Gunn, who were keeping a close eye on Angel and aware of the closeness between Spike and Angel, were the only ones quick enough to grab Angel as he attempted to leap up onto Kaden.

"You stay the hell away from him!" Angel hissed out angrily, shaking off Wesley and Gunn's hands off his arms.

Kaden merely retook his seat and leaned against his hand, not even trying to contain the boredom that he felt.

"No Mr.Angel, I don't believe that you can tell me what to do. Not now, not ever. Especially not in my own club. I also believe that weapons of any sort are not permitted in my club" With a wave of his hand the weapons disappeared from their hands, "That also applys to you and your friends. Your not special Mr.Angel, in any way, and yet I am. Special that is, and damn well proud of it" Kaden finished, smirking as he watched Angel's comrades shuffle nervously on their feet.

"Who are you! Why haven't you got a scrap of information on you in Wolfram and Harts books? What did you do to Spike!" Angel shouted furiously.

"You will find out in due time I assure you Mr.Angel. Now, if you will excuse me, I have some important business to attend to" Kaden dismissed, gesturing to the door.

"Not until you tell me what you did to Spike!" Angel yelled, banging his fist on the nearby table.

Kaden grabbed Angels fist and pulled him down to his eye level, "Your so God damn worried about your precious boy that you leave him, alone with no backup, in Wolfram and Hart, which is the building that I just broke into! All I have to do is get my men to break back in there and snatch him up! So think before you march in here on your high horse next time because theremay not be a next time for your precious...Spike" Kaden warned smiling nastily and released Angel's hand.

"Leave" Kaden commanded, leaving no word for argument. Angel's comrades were happy to obligue as they left hurriedly through the doors leaving only Wesley, Gunn and Angel in the room. Angel turned to his friends and asked them to leave him alone in the room. They hesitated before they finally left, standing outside the door.

"Listen-"

"No. I don't think I will!" Kaden yelled, breaking off Angel's sentence, "I don't give a shit what you want from me or what you think your going to do to me. I have other things to do than sit here and listen to you yack about whatever crap your going to pull out of your arse next. I told you to leave, I wasn't asking you and I sure as hell am not looking to make 'friends' with you. So there is no reason for you to be here" Kaden stated, looking increasing annoyed at Angel's presence.

"When I said leave I meant NOW!" Kaden roared, his eyes flashing with power. Whatever power Kaden possessed sent Angel flying backwards out of the room and straight into his friends, knocking them down the spiral staircase.

Kaden paid no attention to the commotion outside the room and simply closed the doors with magic and picked up the phone.

"Yes sir?" a voice answered on the other end of the phone.

"There's been a change of plan" Kaden said, conjuring up a drink.

"Sir?" The person asked curiously.

"The sarcophagus I ordered up to Wolfram and Harts lab, has it arrived yet?"

"Yes sir, exactly the one you ordered up"

"Good. A young woman works there with you. She is intelligent. We can't have both her and Illyria on our case now can we?" Kaden sipped his drink.

"If the woman you speak of is Winifred Burkle then no sir. She is smart, but with Illyria they will know too much of your plans. What is this new plan of which you speak of sir?"

"I want Illyria to possess Winifred Burkle"

"Not that I am questioning you sir, but what of Spike? Surely if he is to reign with you he needs to have the power of Illyria"

"That was before I relized I could call upon an old...friend. I done them a favour a long time ago, well, put it this way, it was a pretty huge favour. They will give me his power, even more than Illyria could ever possess. Once I tell them of my plans they won't be able to resist" Kaden replyed, chuckling.

"Impressive sir"

"Thank you. Oh and Knox?"

"Yes sir?" Knox asked.

"Don't screw this up" Kaden threatened.

"I won't sir"

The line went dead.

WOLFRAM AND HART, MEDICAL WARD, 1AM:

Fred frantically re-read the passage, making sure that she had read was correct and that it wasn't wrong.

"Oh My God!" Fred gasped, running out of the ward and carrying the book with her.

SCIENCE LABORATORY:

Fred rushes into the lab, clutching the book towards her chest as she walked hurriedly towards her office. She glanced to her left as she was walking and her eyes were instantly caught on an sarcophagus which she had never seen before.

"Oh hey, I thought it might be you" Knox greeted as he entered the room, "I saw a bundle of brown, bouncey hair and said to myself 'That's Fred'" Knox said, chuckling along with Fred.

"Yeah, I guess I was in kind of a hurry. So when did this arrive?" Fred asked, placing the book on the table next to her.

"Some time in the evening. I couldn't find any invoice on it. I thought maybe you went crazy on eBay" Knox replyed, coming up behind Fred.

Fred circled the sarcophagus curiously, "No. No eBay. After that commemorative plate incident, I'm living clean. Did you run a spectral analysis?" Fred asked sheepishly, trying not to remember the plate incident.

"Yeah. Everything is bouncing off of it, which doesn't thrill me" Knox replyed frowning,

"Yeah. Lets not be hasty about opening it. It's probably just a mummy" Fred said, turning to face Knox.

"Mummies can be a lot more trouble than you think. So what brings you up here? Something sure had you in a rush" Knox commented, watching as Fred smiled shyly.

"Oh it's no biggy. Just something about that Kaden guy everyone is after. I think that he may have existed a long time ago, like a really long time ago. I probably read it wrong though" Fred responded, turning to again inspect the sarcophagus.

"Well ok. So you want me to get our Hazmat's on this baby?" Knox asked.

"Yeah, and see about where it came from" Fred replyed, leaning in for a closer look as Knox left.

Fred stares at the end of it where the iris is located and tentatively reaches out for one of the purple crystals which decorate it's surface. She gently touches her fingertips to a purple crystal and before she knew what was happening, the iris opens, letting out a gust of air, which Fred inhales in her surprise, and steps back coughing. Outside the lab Knox smiles, reaches for his phone and says simply.

"It is done"

WOLFRAM AND HART, FIRM CAFETERIA:

"So what can I get you?" Devon asked as he opened the fridge.

"What we got?" Devon looked through the fridge at Spike's question.

"Well we got blood, beer and other alcohol beverages. Blood doesn't freak me out if you want it" Devon answered, looking at Spike expectantly.

"Heat me up some blood then will ya mate" Spike asked grinning while reaching into his pockets.

At Spike's distraction, Devon pulled out a blood bag, poured the contents into a cup then reached into his pocket and pulled out a small gem. He put the cup into the microwave, set the time, and got himself a beer.

"I've just realized," Spike said, lighting his cigarette, "This is the first meal I've had today what with all the commotion an' all" Spike finished, taking a long drag from his smoke.

"You must be famished" Devon said, pulling out the now heated blood from the microwave. He looked at Spike, seeing his attention elsewhere, and drogged the gem into the blood. He watched as it fizzed then disappeared, leaving no trace that it had been there.

Devon handed Spike the blood and immediately felt guilty. He had nothing against Spike and he seemed a nice enough guy and to have to drop him into something like this was completely wrong, it was horrible, and that's how Devon felt at the moment. Horrible. He'd never felt that before.

He watched as Spike took a big gulp before he looked at his cup in confusion and sniffed it. Spike raised his eyes to his and put down the mug he was holding.

"What the hell did you put in my drink" Spike growled out, getting up from his seat.

"In a few seconds nothing. But to answer your question just a little something that will bring out the earlier spell again" Devon answered truthfully.

"So what, another hypnotism thingy" Spike asked crossing his arms angrily.

"No. If your asking for the effects of the gem I just put in your drink, then it basically makes you want Kaden like before. You'll become...evil. You'll come to hate your friends, family...loved ones. Everyone you come across" Devon replyed, watching Spike as his face creased in horror.

"You bastard. Your going to make me hate them...make me hurt them?" Spike asked incredulously. Devon had to turn away from Spike's cold, accusing eyes.

"I'm sorry" Devon said, still not looking at Spike but hearing his snort.

"Yeah. I'm sure you are. But that doesn-"Spike's sentence was cut off as he closed his eyes and shook his head. Devon turned to Spike, waiting to see the effects the gem had on him.

After a while Spike reopened his eyes and looked at Devon distainfully.

"You can go now" Spike stated, waiting for him to leave.

Devon, who had sensed the change in Spike, slowly rose from his seat, bowed his head respectfully and made a hasty retreat. Spike walked towards the window and placed his hands on the glass, while watching as Angel and a large group of men headed for the entrance to the building.

"I should go greet them" Spike muttered to himself, smirking as he turned and walked into the elevator that would take him to meet his lover.
