WOLFRAM AND HART, FRONT LOBBY, EVENING:

Oh yes, this party is hell. Angel thought as he stood in the shadows, protecting his whiskey to his chest. True to her word Illyria had come back to take Spike down to the party and now because of her Angel hadn't seen Spike since.

That was an hour ago.

Angel sipped at his drink and kept glancing around the room, trying to get a glimpse at where Spike was. Still no Spike, Angel growled.

Angel looked behind him and turned back quickly, cringing. Please don't let him have seen me, Angel thought desperately.

"Why Angel-Cakes, don't you dare tell me you've been standing in this gloomy corner since you came here! That's not good Karma sweetness!" Lorne yelled with his over exaggerated bubbly voice.

I've hit rock bottom, Angel thought and flinched when he heard Lorne's voice.

"Oh don't give me that look mister!" Lorne frowned when Angel looked at him, "Just because everyone's enjoying themselves and you look like a puppy who's lost its favourite toy doesn't mean to take it out on me!" Lorne said glaring at Angel.

"Yeah well I didn't exactly want to come here," Angel grumbled.

"So why are you here?" Lorne asked before it clicked and he smiled, "Oh I get it! You're here because of Spike and he's been whisked away. How sweet! You're here all suffering and brooding, well more, because you can't find him! Aw!" Lorne cooed.

"If you value your bits in all the right places I suggest you be quiet" Angel said in a frightening sickly sweet voice.

Lorne gulped before he got himself back to his cheery self, "Fine, if you want to brood then go ahead and have at it! I don't really care as long as the party poopers are away from the fun zone!" Lorne said in a very childish way.

Angel gave him a look over, "Lorne how much alcohol have you had?" Angel asked.

Lorne gave it some thought before shrugging, "I don't know and I couldn't really care sweetness!" Lorne giggled insanely, "Well back to the matter at hand, I need a favour now I-"

"I'm not singing!" Angel cut in shouting.

Lorne sneered at him, "Well even if I did want someone to sing take my word for it, it wouldn't be you!" Lorne said angrily after being cut off.

Angel frowned, "What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Angel fumed.

Lorne brightened, "Oh nothing, nothing. So as I was saying, I need you to, you know, mingle with everyone so that you make an impression. Right now princess you're standing in a corner glaring at peoples heads. They are getting quite put off by you Angel and we need all the supporters we can get" Lorne said as seriously as he could while slurring.

Angel looked at Lorne, blinked one, and twice then drank the rest of his drink in one go.

"Oh don't be like that! We need supporters" Lorne tried to convince Angel but he wasn't having it. So as Lorne turned to walk away he smiled secretively.

"You never know, you might meet up with Spike" Lorne said and gave a fake sigh.

Lorne stayed with his back to Angel before he frowned when he heard no reply. He turned round and saw that Angel had already gone and was now talking to a group of people, while glancing around the room every 5 seconds.

Lorne clapped his hands in delight, not knowing he had a drink in his hand, and spilled his drink down his purple suit. As Lorne went to drink his Scotch he looked down at it in confusion.

"Huh, some bugger's gone and drunk my drink" Lorne slurred to himself and went back to the bar for a top up.

ANGELS POV:

Ok this is good, I'm mingling, smiling, having a good time. A few people have come onto me, which I turned them down; yes this is what partying is all about. Now where the hell is Spike?

"I had the worst case with a Chaos demon. Apparently they had their homes brought down by a bunch of angry clients from Wolfram and Hart saying that they now owned their property. So I said to the Chaos demons that my partner said that his partner said that the demons that crashed their homes weren't Wolfram and Hart's clients. They don't believe that so we now have a case. What do you think Mr. Angel?"

His eyes were caught by a shock of platinum hair.

"Mr. Angel? Are you alright?" He turned to the annoying woman trying to catch his attention.

"I have to go now erm Ms…?" He said backing away from her.

"Courtney's fine!" Courtney called out.

"Well great meeting you Courtney, maybe we'll chat another time," He shouted as he ran past the corridor.

Courtney snorted, "Hell no, that guy is so gay" She mumbled then walked up to the next guy who caught her attention.

NORMAL POV:

When Angel got around the corner he was very disappointed to not see Spike but someone else who seemed to be into the punk look as well. Angel sighed and rubbed his nose. This isn't going as planned, Angel mused. Angel was bumped into from behind by a very distressed Illyria.

"Illyria!" Angel spoke at the same time Illyria said his name. Illyria gestured for Angel to speak first.

"Where's Spike? I've been looking for him for the past" Angel looked at his watch, "Two and a half hours. Where did you take him?" Angel asked clenching his fists.

Illyria shifted and looked at Angel, "Well I kind of misplaced him" Illyria spoke nervously.

Angel looked gob smacked, "Misplaced him? You lost him? As in you can't find him? How long ago was this?" Angel asked calmly.

Illyria thought for a second.

"I misplaced him. I didn't lose him I just can't find him. About 10 minutes after we arrived to the party" Illyria said in her 'Holier than thou' attitude.

Angel took a deep, calming, unneeded breath. After a few minutes he composed his self.

"So any ideas as to where he went off to?" Angel asked through clenched teeth.

"He said something about wanting to get some air and while being drunk it would be 'cool' to go on-" Gunn rushing up from the basement and brushing past them cut off Illyria.

Angel and Illyria looked at each other and followed Gunn as he stumbled up the stairs as fast as he could. Gunn stopped at a large, metal door, which he punched in the code and ran inside.

"Gunn! What's happening?" Angel asked worriedly as he stepped into the security room full of cameras, for the prisoners in the basement.

Gunn went up to every camera in the room, looking more panicked as he past each one.

"Oh man oh man oh man," Gunn muttered at each camera before kicking a chair across the room, swearing loudly.

"Your heart beat is at an alarming level. I suggest you calm down" Illyria spoke with her head held high.

Gunn sat down opening and closing his mouth, muttering streams of words.

"Its not possible…the alarms…the sedatives…locked…lasers…guards" The security crew looked at Gunn worriedly.

"Gunn, what's wrong? What's happening?" Angel asked softly. Gunn looked at Angel and shot from his chair backing away from him waving his hands in front of him.

"I swear man! It weren't my fault! None of it! I wasn't on duty! It wasn't caught on camera, he couldn't have gotten out! It wasn't possible!" Gunn rambled at Angel while he walked towards him.

"Who couldn't have gotten out Gunn?" Angel asked stoically.

"There are lasers on the bars! There are alarms and cameras! There was no way in hell he could have past them all!" Gunn shouted as Angel still casually walked towards him.

Angel stopped in front of him, "Who?" Angel asked again, knowing the answer but needing to here it from his lips.

"Aston" Gunn answered quietly. Angel then suddenly pulled him into the air by his neck, face to face with the vampire.

"You bastard! You let him out! He's going to get Spike! Oh god! We can't find Spike!" Angel squeezed Gunn's neck harder as he started choking.

Illyria grabbed his wrist putting pressure on it, "Let him down. We need his help to find Spike. He knows this place better than you do; he knows everywhere Aston and Spike could be. Let him down" When she got no response from Angel, she squeezed his wrist until the bones were painfully rubbing together which forced him to release Gunn.

"You were meant to be watching over him! You've caused this! If you had kept an eye on Spike we wouldn't have this big a problem!" Angel fumed at Illyria; eye's turning a dangerous amber colour.

"Fine, we'll keep Gunn alive. But I swear, if he's done something to Spike I won't think twice before killing him" With that threat he turned to Gunn and it was then that Gunn knew who he was face to face with.

"Now this is how it's going to work. We're going to check the whole building; he won't be in the front lobby. He wouldn't be able to get through there without someone noticing him. I want my boy back and I want him back now. I don't care how we're going to do it but we're going to do it quickly. Any queries?" Angelus asked rhetorically.

"Good. Then lets set out. It'll be better if we stay together rather than split up in case someone finds them and they can't find us" Angelus turned to Illyria after he finished.

"Angel asked where Spike said he was going earlier but you were cut off. What were you saying?"

"I was saying that Spike said something about wanting to get some air and while being drunk it would be 'cool' to go on the roof. But I'm not sure if he will still be there" Illyria answered challenging Angelus with her stare.

Angelus smirked, "Knowing Spike he most probably will still be there, he is fond of views. Also there is a supply of Alcohol up there to keep them cool. Lets go" Angelus said and led them up to the roof, with Gunn at the rear rubbing his neck.
