Chaos Dragons

Newly returning to the world of Myrithica, much information about the dragons is still unknown. Records will be updated as new information is gathered.

Abilities:

Bonding- at birth dragons will form a bond with an individual. However this bond is not necessary, nor is it permanent. Should the dragon
be abused or find there bond wanting they can sever the bond and leave to ether live on there own or join a flight.

Breath weapons- these can vary to an unbelievable degree. From fog to fire a dragons breath weapon can take on any number of forms.
Though it is known that there weapon is usually linked to the dragons element of magic.

Communication- even though incapable of verbal communication they can mind speak with whomever they wish, not just with there
bonds. Some breeds of dragons are more verbal then others, where some choose to communicate only with there bonds.
But all are capable of understanding speech. They are not limited to languages, many times there bond need them as
translators when traveling to other worlds.

Flight- though not seen in recorded history, some legends speak of dragons fighting midair.  However, with the number of dragons existing
today, such a sight is impossible. It is obviously, however, they do have the ability to fly.

Intelligence- Dangerously intelligent, it has been compared only to there curiosity, which some are annoyingly so, they spend much of
there life causing mischief. And they never tire of learning.

Teleportation- All dragons are able to teleport to anywhere in Myrithica. They are also able to create there own portals to other worlds.
However, to do so the dragon requires a clear picture of where and when it needs to go. In many dimensions time moves
differently and a person can end up centuries from when they want to be. Also, unless told where to go, they will end up
popping out in a random location in any place in any world in any time. The portals are not permanent, but they can remain
open for as long as the dragon want it to.

Breeds:

Common:

Ocean - They are very calm and it takes quite a bit to make them lose there heads. They like living streams and lakes or really anybody of
water. Oceans are preferable. They're small compared to the others, but wont let themselves be intimidated. However, they are
also smart enough to run from a battle they can't win.

Mountain - This breed is usually clam when by themselves. They are the most territorial of the breeds, and have been known to even
attack Void dragons in defense of it. They like living in mountainous regions, but are content to live in deciduous forests.
                 (FYI: think Red woods.)

Poison - These are the most common of the dragons and the most likely to be pushed around. They don't usually have a personal
territory, but will sometimes live in a group with other Poisons protecting a shared area, or will live with another stronger dragon.
However, do to their low status in the dragon hierarchy they consider their bondmate that much more important, and are easily
              the most protective.

Side Note- it isn't unusual for Poisons, and Lightnings to group together into a mixed group.

Lava - fairly violent they like living near volcanoes, or near geothermic hot springs. They're large for dragons but don't have the patience
to lead anything. Mostly they just like staying relaxed and cooling their heels as long as they are somewhere warm and by
themselves. Having a nice pile of gold never hurt though.  Due to there violent temperament never let them in a populated area.

Lightning - hyper active and childish, they are seen like a younger brother or sister to all the dragon breeds. They are accepted, or at least
tolerated, by all other dragons due to there usefulness.

Uncommon:

Void - fairly small, they have a nose for trouble. The most chaotic of the dragons; they Live in the dark almost lifeless space that
surrounds Myrithica. Some have been seen using shadow magic but only their bonds truly know.

Thunder - they are neutral dragons. Usually preferring to stay out of matters that are of little concern to them (meaning almost
everything). About the only thing that can arouse any reaction from them is when doing something that directly affects them.
Such as doing something to their bondmate or trying to take their treasure, which is something they like to have a few pieces of
                laying around.

Desert - along with there fiery tempers, they also have a curiosity, which makes them unpredictable and dangerous. They like open
spaces, which is actually the safest place for them, and they usually live in tropical regions where the weather is warm.

Opal - exotic as far as dragons go; they like living in southern forests where the weather is warm and the forest support an array of color.
They are the smallest of the dragons, but have a large amount of forest magic that makes them formidable. Their wings are highly
prized due to there array of color and how they are formed. But unlike there cousins, most who come after them lose their lives
           trying to find them.

Diamond - very calm and clear thinking; they are given respect by most other dragons and their word is often heeded. Even though they
don't officially take leadership roles, they are often looked to by other dragons and even their bonds at times. Only their bonds
                know of their magic.

Physical differences:

Claws- though most are pretty similar, a few exceptions have been found. Poisoned claws, Retractable claws, and added dew claws.

Heads- there is no definition for this; they can have spikes, fins, hair, feathers, and/or horns. And they range in many shapes and sizes.

Tails- From fins to spikes, a dragons tail can have almost anything attached to the end or nothing at all. Known additions are fins, a
stinger (s), feathers, spikes, and open-shut claw.

Wings- though most are made of think membranes, a few alternatives have been discovered. Scales, mostly found in Opals, added
feathers, though they don't make up most of the wing some dragons have been born with feathers attached to the end of the
membrane and front of the wing.

Reproduction:

Breeding- these dragons reach sexual maturity at about 5 years of age. At that time they will seek out a mate. A dragons sexuality usually
matches that of there bond. If you have a flirty bond you will have a flirty dragon, though this isn't always the case. Unlike
many dragons from other worlds, they don't mate in flight. Flying may occur during courting, but wont take place during actual
mating. Mating between dragons many times can easily turn violent.

Clutching- For a dragon to clutch is a rare occasion, and usually clutches only contain between 5 to 10 eggs. There mother incubates them
in a lair of her own choosing or making over a course of several months. When they hatch they are left to fend for themselves.
The Mother may protect them for the first few minutes against predators so all the hatchling would have to worry about is its
siblings. Now that is no longer necessary, so most females abandon there young at moment of hatching. However, she may
keep order among the hatchlings at her bonds request. She will only leave her clutch to go hunting leaving the father behind to
                protect them. And he'd better.
