Butterfly
This film takes place in Spain in 1936. During this time period, Spain  was recovering from into Civil War.  Hilter and his army were posing a threat to this newly found democracy.  This movie shows a relationship between a seven year old boy and his school teacher. This young boy's name is Moncho.  He can read but ears starting school because of the stories he hears about children getting beat. His close relationship with his teacher starts when Moncho runs home after embarrassing himself in front of the class. Moncho's teacher is named Don Gregorio.  Gregorio introduces Moncho to the world of nature and to a world of butterflies.  These butterflies have no sense of war or disruption between each other, they only know that they are on earth for a little while and will enjoy the time that they have.  This is the lesson that Gregorio tries to teach Moncho. This movie shows Moncho coming to terms with the changes in his life.
From this movie, I see just how hard change can be. In this movie, we see life during the recovery period after the Spanish Civil War. Moncho not only have to change for school but also had to change to cope with changing times. He also needed to cope with the hard times in his country.  Change is difficult for anybody. For a seven year old boy, school can be a durastic change.  I know how hard change can be for most people, and this movie helped reinforce my idea.  Overall I thought this movie was ok.  Although it was not one of my favorite movies.
