By the way, did those who attended the Nationals get to
acquire some booms from Ricardo made of this new wood? What do you think of it? Reports please. I'd
also like to know how Kendall's exhibit went. Thanks
Y'all!

I wrote privately that Ricardo didn't have any plywood booms
for sale. I had about ten made from the new plywood and Dave Hughes entered one
he made in the contest, which then won.
The G9 is dense stuff, almost like using phenolic.
Kendall had an awesome set up of
tools and did some demos making boomerangs. He was well versed in what he was
doing and explained it to the spectators well. I had hoped to fill in for him
while he was competing but to tell the truth, was a bit afraid of his set up.
He uses a lot of tools different than mine and in different ways. He uses a
router quite a bit and was working alot with a 1" wide belt sander. I have
never used a 1" wide and was concerned that I would mess up some
boomerangs, something I did not want to do in front of spectators. It would
have been nice to get to work with him some, and learn how he does his
boomernags. Unfortunatley, the
competition schedule is very busy and he had limited free time. Usually when he
was available, I was teaching kids or selling stuff for Ricardo....
