She was sold to me on July 1989 on gravina 7, I was very lucky to find it. She was reserved for a very renown artist who didnt show up for a while because was on tour. I was testing a few guitars and was not to surprised with the ones I was testing, they were about 6 guitars. During that Faustino's widow came into the shop and heard me playing. After a while she came close to me asked if I wanted to see a "Primera Clase" and of course I accepted. Just needed to play one chord of tarantos to realize that It was it, just what I always wanted since I played my teachers Conde blanca 10 years before. I was very enlighted with the guitar, just was made for me... love at first sight!. Faustino's widow told me that she would agree to sale it to me because she saw that I would take care of her with diligence and pasion. She quoted "I'm giving you this guitar because I see you really like it, you play well and I see you will take care of it. If you by any mean came here to buy and resale, you can make good profit, but when you come back to get another one like this, you may buy another one but you will never have another one like this 'cause there are no more. Take good care of it, is what I ask of you".
What has to be said about this this guitar?, every flamenco quitar player knows it's attributes. She in particular is very profound, deep bases and balanced trebles, and very fast attack too. I would say she has a very flamenco concert attitud. Some how she is "spoiled and jelouse", but gentle to the touch and very sensitive, a very nice lady to work with. |
