One of four Leyland Swifts with Wadham Stringer Vanguard II bodywork bought new by Waverley in 1989, J 51771 is seen laying over at the Esplanade "coach park" between excursions in 1997. The layout of the livery is clearly seen here, being applied in this manner to the Mercedes mini-coaches as well, but being simpler on the old Bedfords. A fifth Swift has joined the original coaches, this being converted from a bus and being unique among the Waverly fleet in having automatic transmission.
