74, 69, 72, 75 and 71 were by 1999 the oldest coaches in the TBCT fleet and surplus to
requirements with the influx of ex-UK Leyland Swifts as replacements. They are seen that Easter
parked up at the Living Legend wondering what their fate will be. While still in quite good
condition for their 20 year age, nobody can argue that these Bedfords make acceptable modern
luxury transport, least of all their drivers who have to pilot what are effectively 1950s
coaches, and due to TBCT's huge inheritance of newer examples, will have to for some time yet.
