Pioneer Coaches "Oliver"

J 14672

This Leyland Titan double decker was spotted on a private hire at St Aubin in July 1999, with the old railway terminus building in the background. The plate below the cab window bears the name Oliver, believed to be named after the son of Pioneer's owner. The bus was acquired ex-preservation around 1992 and subsequently converted to open-top; while it is the only operational decker on the island at present it is not sighted frequently. Pioneer also have an ex-London Transport RT-class bus which is in a poor state, and on which restoration has been proceeding slowly.
