BILLY DANIELS began his career as a singing waiter before working with dance bands and in Vaudeville. In 1943 during a club appearance he performed "That old black Magic", giving the song a highly dramatic exciting treatment it had never before received, and from that time onwards, the singer and the song were inseparable. Daniels appeared regularly on television in the USA and UK and made a few film appearances. In 1975 he worked with Pearl Bailey in "Hello Dolly".
STEVE ALLEN began as a writer and announcer for a Phoenix radio station and as a disk jockey for a Los Angeles radio station. With the advent of tv, he shifted to that medium and in 1953 he created the "Tonight Show"  for NBC which was an immediate success. In 1956 he has his own prime time tv show.
