3 key ideas from What the Bleep Do We Know:

1. The mind creates its own reality
This idea states that the reality that we know is shown to us through our minds, so if our mind percieves something a certain way, even if it isnt true, that is what we will see. The extreme example used in the film is when Columbus ships arrive at America, the Indians are unable to see them at first because their minds simply cannot comprehend what they are seeing. Another example is when one of the physicists explains that if you completely believe with your whole mind that you can walk on water, then you will. Quantnum physics proves that walking on water is technically possible, and since your mind wouldnt be able to comprehend anything else, it would work.

2. The needs and cravings in our subconscious can shape our lives
This is the idea that our subconscious can put us into situations based on our cravings without us even knowing it. Since our brain takes in much more information than it processes, it is possible for our subconcsious to process the information necessary to fufill a certain craving. The example in the movie shows a woman whose body is craving embarassment and she steps back and has a man spill wine on her. Also, one of the physicists says that each morning he maps out how he wants his day to go and during the day little things will go his way. It is possible that his subconscious effects small things that he does that lead to these little things working out for him.

3. Thoughts can physically hurt us
The movie explains how emotions create peptides that are sent to our cells. Over time these receptors can wear out and then the cells are unable to receive important nutrients. This can lead to premature aging. The movie shows an example where a mans thoughts physically change water. A question the movie offers is that if thoughts can do that to water, what can they do to us. When Amanda gets mad at herself after the wedding, she considers this and realizes how important it is to love yourself.
