| �Grateful� by Reesy I regret my circumstances and it is a shame, But my timing and my reality are unchangeable thus far. It seems unfair but I'm not one to whine or complain, I'm just grateful to have met you and to know the man that you are. Will it bring me closer to being your friend? If wishing made it happen I would have come far. But now my time is spent wondering at no end�still I'm just grateful to have met you and to know the man that you are. Others think it can't be satisfying living this way, They give me opinions and say it's like wishing on a star. I humbly admit that I wish we were closer, in dismay�but again I'm just grateful to have met you and to know the man that you are. The hardest part is knowing that you are overlooked or ignored, Your name is revered by many while it others mock or mar. I do what I can and spread many a good word, I'm just grateful to have met you and to know the man that you are. Though it is heartfelt and for you it will always remain, What I can offer is limited- not much really when from so far- My friendship, my great respect, and all that is in my domain� I'm just grateful to have met you and to know the man that you are. If you ever see this and you are moved to respond or to share, In humility and thankfulness it would be accepted with all my heart. Please know that whether or not others appreciate you and care, I'm just grateful to have met you and to know the man that you are. |
| I am not the world's greatest poet or writer but I feel that I am Jerry's biggest or most devoted fan so this poem is my attempt at expressing my gratitude for all that he has done, not just for me but for all of his fans. Jerry, you have inspired many creative things in me but to-date this is one of the few things that have truly come from my heart. It is true that this entire site is a heartfelt expression of my appreciation but this poem comes from a deeper emotion than that. It comes from a feeling that is reserved for someone I have the greatest respect for and someone I would consider a friend. It is my hope that you know that I would like to think of myself as not just a fan but possibly a friend. Today, it goes out from me to you. ~Reesy~ |
