For three years I have heard about and enjoyed watching Jerry Lynn wrestle.  Lately he hasn't wrestled as much inTNA but I hope it's only a matter of time before he is active again.  2002 when TNA began it's weekly PPVs was the first time I saw him.  I'm not a long-time fan of wrestling and truth be told, I used to scoff.  It wasn't until 1999 that I was coerced into watching WCW and after the first few moments I was hooked.  Jerry wasn't there as far as I know.  I could be wrong but I was blinded by the bigger guys and never took note of the lightweights.  Big mistake on my part and I'm openly admitting it.

Some may wonder why I've created this website.  Jerry isn't the flashiest wrestler around and a few people have told me there is nothing special about him.  So why?  Why spend my time on him?  I'll tell you why.

Jerry
is special.  He caught my attention immediately the first time I saw him wrestle in 2002 and even though I tuned in because Scott Hall was on the show Jerry stopped me in my tracks.  Just watching a guy with his abilities wrestle the younger, less talented guys and keep their pace opened my eyes.  I have so much respect for that kind of performance but I have even more respect for Jerry.

I attended the fan fest the day before the Bound For Glory PPV in Orlando in 2005.  I admittedly went with my friends to see Kevin Nash because we are members of his fan club and we've met, dined with and talked to him on a personal basis.  It was a fan club dinner and we spent about six hours with him exclusively.  I went away from that trip (1500 miles) feeling like it was the highlight of my life.  My friends and I agreed to meet in Florida the following year for the BFG PPV weekend and had made tentative plans with Kevin to meet up with him at some point either at the fan fest or after the PPV.  What we weren't prepared for was Kevin going into the hospital with heart trouble the afternoon or evening of the fan fest.  We were sorry to hear it and of course our main concern was for his health and well-being.

One of my friends turned to me and said she hoped I wasn't too disappointed.  I was a bit but I told her that if Jerry Lynn was there that it would save the day for me.  Well...lol less than a minute later we heard Jeremy introduce Jerry as he came out of the back to greet and meet the fans there.  This is where it gets a little embarrassing for me but I'll tell the story anyway.

If ever there were a bigger mark for Jerry Lynn I would like to meet him or her because I believe, or at least I've been told, that TNA had footage of me in action when Jerry came through that door.  I have yet to see it but I'm told that a cameraman knelt down right beside me and
trained his camera on me the whole time.  I never saw him because my focus was trained elsewhere...lol.

After Jerry went over to the table to start signing autographs and meet his fans my friends teased me about it.  One even suggested that since we couldn't meet up with Kevin that weekend that maybe we should ask Jerry to join us for dinner.  I was mortified and knew I wouldn't be able to utter a complete sentence if they asked and if he accepted so I told them "no way!"  (Silly me)  Now I wish I had told them to go ahead.  In fact Jerry, if you ever see this, please know that I have great regrets about it now...lol.

After I regained my composure one of my friends asked if I wanted to meet him and really it wasn't an inquiry.  She just took me by the hand and marched me over to his table.  She handed me tickets that she had to get an autographed picture of him and a polaroid of him if I wanted it.  She said hello to him and told him my name.  She said she was holding my hand so I would be able to meet him and he grinned.  I honestly don't know whether or not Jerry saw me losing it when he came out but maybe on some level he knew that I was pathetically and hopelessly struck by this opportunity to meet him.

Jerry was so nice.  He said he liked my name and I guess it's a bit unusual but he was so kind.  I've heard that he is well-liked by everyone and after meeting him I knew why.  He was so gracious to me and posed for two pics.  One was by the TNA photographer and one was by my friend.  After he autographed the 8x10 he posed with me.  He leaned his head into mine a little and said he wasn't very good at that sort of thing.  Could have fooled me-I was thinking it couldn't get much better than this...lol but it was the nicest experience I've ever had and I would say it beat out meeting and spending six hours with Kevin.  My friends will probably say that's nuts but I know what it meant to me.  My regret is that I didn't have more time to talk to him.  I do think that after the initial butterflies wore off that I could have had a very nice chat with him.  Maybe some day we'll meet again and it is my hope that we will have more time.  I've included the two pics taken at the fan fest.  I think you'll see why it was so special to me.
