Going to Jerry's shows in Newton  and Perry, IA. Part 2

It's 10 PM Saturday after the show in Perry, IA and I've had the best time I could have possibly had at a wrestling event!  Every match was so entertaining and some of those young guys could have been main eventers and hopefully one day they will be.  One in particular I'll be watching for is Tyler Black.  I saw things out of him and a physique that parallels only one other that I know of.  I just hope for Tyler's sake that he's treated better and receives the recognition that comes from working your tail off just to put on the best show you can for fans who boo you but love you all the same.  The one who never gets booed and is so loved by many wrestling fans was the reason I came to Iowa.  I drove over 300 miles one way but it was so worth it to me.  I wouldn't trade this weekend for anything and just like always, he did not disappoint me or the crowd who saw him and his tag team partner win the main event.  Wish I could go to all of Jerry's matches but that isn't possible.  Still it was a weekend I won't ever forget and if I never get to see Jerry wrestle in person again I will have been treated to the best!

To start my day I left Newton and got stuck in a long line of traffic on I-80 because a semi had wiped out taking half a guard rail with it.  It was on it's side and the left lane was shut down.  It was quite a site as I came up on it and all the time I spent shifting up and down between first gear and neutral I wasn't cursing out the reason for the hold up.  I didn't know the reason for it but I assumed it was not a pleasant situation so the one I was cursing was myself for not driving an automatic.  Well I made it to town and found my motel and then spent some time typing part 1 of my experience.  I just wish I could relive the high points before I head for home so I guess that's what I'm doing right now.

So on with it already!

I drove to the NGA in Perry which was only about a mile from my motel and stood in line just inside the door with other fans.  I met some of the nicest people in the world in Newton and Perry and if my heart weren't already in Montana or somewhere down south I could see me moving here when I retire.  Wonderful hometown folks here!

When  we were let in as with the previous night there was my ticket waiting for me at the desk so I could just go on in and find my front row seat.  I started right out testing my picture taking settings and found the one that would give me the best pics.  Then I looked around to see some familiar faces from the night before like the camera crew.  I took their pic and got a smile from Chad.  I came over and said I thought it was only right that I get a pic of the ones who were doing all the hard work.  Then I walked over to the table where they sold wrestling memorabilia and looked over a few items I thought I might pick up later.  As it is there was only one and that was an autographed pic of Tyler Black.  My but that young man impressed me!

As I walked down the line I spotted Jerry and made my way toward him taking pics as I went.  I know there's  only so  many candids I need but I drove all that way and I wasn't going to waste the opportunity.  Well the guy standing at the end of the table next to him saw what I was about so he gave me a wide berth and in no time I had plenty of (Pam will  appreciate this) butt shots. LOL!  I told the guy I was just having some fun and even though Jerry would probably want to shoot me it was worth it.  He enjoyed that (the guy I was talking to, not Jerry.)  I don't think Jerry knew what I was doing but he will.  I'll post those pics somewhere and make sure he sees them.  I feel so naughty!

Well I finally got his attention and had the guy take a pic of us.  It's a nice pic though by that time I had started to get kind of warm and the heat was rising into my face so my cheeks were pink.  Or maybe it was because I asked him if he was going to take his shirt off for my picture but he declined.  He asked if I could wait until later and I reluctantly said it was ok.  I was only joking and I don't know what came over me but I think Jerry has seen another side of me since I saw another side of him in that pic his wife sent me. LOL.  Naw I'm just joking.  I still have a world of respect for Jerry Lynn, I'm just more comfortable around him now.  While I was at it I got another Polaroid with Jerry.  They were announcing that we could get them so I figured I should too. lol.  Yeah I know…  He autographed it for me too.

I started to walk away when I remembered that I had a few things I wanted to give to him so I came back but by that time he was talking to some other fans so I talked to his pal.  I showed him an early pic of Jerry that I intended to give to him along with others from the same time period.  He must have been all of 25 or so and he looked amazing but then he still does.  The guy took a pic of it with his camera phone and set it by Jerry where he could see it when he was through talking to the fans.  He did and he just said "Oh my god!"  We laughed and then as I handed him the envelope with all the  stuff I wanted to give him I showed him a little tag I'd had made a while back and it was the same pic.  It was on my purse and it said "Jerry's Biggest Fan".  He is stuck with it and he knows it so he just laughed about it and I said the rest of the pics were in the envelope.  He looked at them and told us where each was taken.  He has a great memory!  I did actually get that shirtless pic with him at the end of the evening so my patience paid off.  He came out with his jeans with that nice studded black belt he wears and shoes on but no shirt.  He had his pic taken with a few fans and I said "Oh sure, I come up with the idea and the rest cash in on it."  Or words to that effect so he asked someone I was talking to if she would take our pic and it was sweet!  It really was because he took it in stride after I had joked with him a minute before that he ought never to wear a shirt, just jeans.  He said something that made me smile but I can't recall it at the moment.  He's modest and he wouldn't walk around that way showing off his fine features.  I just know that I said I'm sure but he should still not wear one.  Oh I felt so bold and it was wicked but like I said, he took it in stride and was happy to oblige.

He talked to the woman I had been visiting with for a minute and then turned to me and asked if I was driving home tonight.  I just chuckled and said if I did I'd really get lost and told him I was staying in town for the night.  I don't know what his plans were but I told him I was just hanging around to say goodbye and that I hoped he had a good trip home.  As he hugged me goodbye I said I had a wonderful weekend and he was happy to hear it.

I've said it before and I'll repeat it now.  There isn't a nicer guy on the planet and I feel so blessed to know him and to be someone he likes enough to treat me this way.  Thank you so much, Jerry…a.k.a., Mr. Speedo! ;p
