Return Home
Saturday, May 20... a night that will live in professional wrestling infamy!  At NYWC Rampage, many fans and fellow competitors were set to celebrate the crowning of a new NYWC Champion, Matt "LSD" Hyson.  But before the gold could even be wrapped around Hyson's waist, he would be blindsided by someone who has exemplified good sportsmanship and dignity throughout his storied career.  Following the 15-man "Battle for the Belt," Jerry Lynn approached Hyson seemingly to congratulate him on his victory.  The two shook hands, but the friendly gesture ended there, as Lynn slugged Hyson with a short-arm clothesline that nearly knocked the new champ's head off.

Stunned, Hyson attempted to regain his footing, but there would be no recovery from this attack, as Lynn continued his unprovoked assault, smashing Hyson in the back with a steel chair and dropping his head on that same chair with a devastating cradle piledriver.  Lynn then launched into a profanity-laced tirade about how he was tired of being disrespected, and belittled Hyson about his rise to fame in ECW and WWE.  Even more shocking, Lynn would not let up on the punishment, as he pulverized Hyson with chair shots to the skull every time the battered champ attempted to get up.  Finally, Lynn promised that he would once again become the NYWC Champion, dumped the belt on Hyson, and stormed out of the ring, leaving Hyson bruised, bleeding, and humiliated.
More from the NYWC from the Psycho Circus on 1-27-07.

Another event scheduled for 2-24-07 is Aftermath where Jerry will face the NYWC Interstate Champ Ken Scampi for the title.  See this and the rest of the lineup for Aftermath
