Well Slapnuts you can take that cardboard cutout to bed with you because it's the closest you'll ever get to sleeping with the actual Icon!  Me?  I've met the man you viciously maligned twice now and it was one of the most wonderful experiences in my life!  He is the reason I still watch wrestling because I finally saw past the icons and the big gorgeous hunks in spandex who parade around the ring but do little else.  Now I watch a real man in the ring and since you don't take notice you won't mind that he's about to become the next X Division Champion for the third time!  That is my reward.  I don't need to dream of sex with a cardboard cutout of Jerry.  I get my satisfaction from watching him wrestle.

We're talking about apples and oranges here really.  I'll explain.

The Icon Hogan made millions off of a gimmick and the ability to promote himself.  He also seems to have Vince over a barrel because when he throws out veiled threats to go to TNA he can then sit back and wait for Vince to throw more money his way to stay with WWE.  He's not well liked in wrestling because of his ego and his greed.  He doesn't even try to get along with others.  He doesn't have to.

The Wrestler Jerry Lynn has made a modest to comfortable living doing what he loves and earning the great respect of his fellow wrestlers by giving of himself tirelessly and unselfishly.  He gets along with most everyone he works with.  He never manipulated Vince or anyone else and he probably paid a price Hogan wasn't willing to pay which was not to compromise his self-respect.

The Icon Hogan has made a mockery of wrestling even though it has made him a millionaire.  He still wants more but that's another issue.  While younger and more talented wrestlers are being released from WWE daily, an old and worn out Icon who continues to nauseate me by taking off his shirt when he enters the ring is still yanking Vince's chain.  About the shirt?  That upper body looks worse than Ric Flair's.  Wrinkles, creases, saggy skin.  It's REVOLTING!  It is time for that old fossil to retire!

The Wrestler Jerry Lynn has made wrestling a respectable profession and thanks to his desire to pass on what he knows to the younger and very talented wrestlers in the wrestling clinics he conducts every month the profession as he knows it may not die out when he finally retires.  I don't doubt that he will do it when the time is right.  Oh and the shirt thing?  I can't stand it when he doesn't take off his shirt because he looks absolutelyoh what word could I use?  It's INCREDIBLE!  Yeah, that's it.  Not a wrinkle, crease or saggy skin anywhere on that buff body!

The Icon Hogan thinks of number one first and foremost.  If it's not going to rake in the dough for him, he's not interested.  That includes not putting over other wrestlers.  He once had some fame that was well-earned about 20 years ago.  Now he's just a joke but his diehard fans won't let him go and I suppose Mr. Stewj is one of them and if anyone is a diehard fan of Jerry Lynn, Mr. Stewj looks down his nose at them and talks down to them like they need to get over "it."

The Wrestler Jerry Lynn consistently puts others needs ahead of his own and he puts over other wrestlers.  It's a job to him and it's one he loves.  If he didn't get paid he'd still love wrestling though he would have to find another way to support his family (a fact Mr. Stewj may have overlooked in his bitter little tirade).  Jerry doesn't and never did have delusions of grandeur.  He always knew he would not be the next Hogan and yet he persevered in his desire to be the best wrestler he could be.  Did he step on someone else to get to the place he is today?  No, he worked his tail off and he continues to do that.  He doesn't rest on his laurels.  He works Indy shows most weekends and he is a road agent as well as a wrestler for TNA.  He doesn't live for the accolades of legends and icons though he's received such from them.

The Icon Hogan charges big bucks for an autographed picture of himself and seldom is accessible to the fans before or after shows.

The Wrestler Jerry Lynn doesn't charge for autographs.  He also freely poses for pictures with his fans and greets them before and after shows.

These are just a few examples of the differences in the Icon and the Wrestler.  This is what I meant by comparing apples to oranges.  Which is which?  It doesn't matter.  What does matter is that one earned his living taking from others and continues to take-take-take.  The other one earned his living making sacrifices for his fans and giving his all for the benefit of the sports entertainment we all love to watch.

I'm glad Jerry isn't the Icon because I couldn't stand him if he were.   He is one of my all time favorite people and definitely my favorite Wrestler.

The truth is Mr. Stewj was really attacking Jerry's fans more than Jerry but it still reflects on him because the quality of his work was addressed as well as his contributions to the wrestling world.  What Mr. Stewj may not have realized and maybe still doesn't is that his ignorant comments based on supposition only made him sound stupid because it's obvious that he didn't do his homework.  He made it sound like Vince and anyone else who hired Jerry and then let him go had a perfectly good reason for it though Mr. Stewj didn't know what "it" was.  Good people are released from WWE all the time and no reason is given to the public by WWE so Mr. Stewj was assuming he knew what he was talking about but we know what happens when we assume something...

I won't say anymore about Mr. Stewj but I will close by saying that even though Jerry didn't make Vince millions the way Hogan did or vice versa, he has enriched the lives of his own diehard fans, including this little fan who happens to be known in wrestling circles as Jerry's Biggest Fan!  You insult us or Jerry and you will hear from me.  I'm not a big person but I can make a big enough noise to make you wish you hadn't or that you had been a little more prudent in your choice of words.
