WOODSTOCK, VIRGINIA—Jerry
John, formerly from Vienna, VA, has a love story to tell… a story of the
love between father and son. Having shared life’s dreams and hopes together for
twenty-nine years, Jerry was separated from his son Eric by a tragic twist of
fate. After Eric’s accidental death, he was left alone to search for solace…and
for answers to his suffering.
In his newly released book, A
Father’s Love (available from 1stBooks Library on the internet at
www.1stbooks.com or 1st Books Order Hot line at 888-280-7715), Jerry
shares the journey of healing following the most devastating event of his life.
Through “Journaling” prayer, Jerry sought answers and enlightenment from God.
Why would God take his son away before his time? Answers found in journaling
brought Jerry a new and enlightened outlook on life. “There is life after life,
and God is a God of mercy,” Jerry concludes.
Parents grieving over fallen children can find solace in
Jerry’s incredible story, which attempts to guide them on a path to wholeness
again. His story encourages parents to embrace their faith, and look for the
many signs of God’s love and mercy. God clearly showed him that Eric’s life was
not in vain, Jerry explains. “The signs and wonders are so profound that there
is no doubt about the message.”
Sixty-eight years old and the father of four children and
grandfather of five, Jerry has dedicated his life to “the service of others” in
both business and politics. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the
University of Minnesota, and has worked as a senior procurement official and
business executive. In his second career, he worked in home construction with
his son, Eric.
Very active in the Charismatic and Cursillo movements of the
Catholic Church, Jerry has lead and challenged others to greater service
throughout his life. Jerry explains that, with the help of his undaunted faith
in God, he has surmounted one of the greatest pains life can deliver—the death
of a child, and returned to peace in life again.
