I’m a Freshman at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and currently I’m undecided upon my major. I’m the son of Andrew and Pok Im Aguirre, oldest of two children, me (20) and Maria (13). I was born in our nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. and have traveled around the world, too.  An experience of a lifetime is when my family and I moved overseas to Camp Zama, Japan where we stayed there for three years because my dad was in the ARMY.

Currently I’m undecided upon my major, therefore I plan to enlist into the United States Marine Corps after this semester. Semper Fi!! My job in the Marines will be in the field of Infantry (0300), where I will be in Security Forces.  In this field, I will be required to guard numerous governmental properties and be experience with many different firearms.

In my spare time I like spending time with my boys (Mike, Ben, Celso, Nesto, Travis, David, Chris, Jordan, Charles, Paul, Cameron, Joe, Sean and Dartanian). Also, on the weekends I spend time with my girlfriend Christi who goes to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My hobbies are spending time with my lady, lifting weights, and hanging out with the fellas.

What do I think about writing?  Writing is very important in any job you do as a way of communication. It’s very important to be able to write effectively and properly to get your point across. Writing can be a way of expressing one’s self and something I lack and need improvement on.

What do I want to get out of this class?  I want to be able to correct any troubles that I might have with my writing. I feel this class will help me to improve drastically in the way I present information and express myself. I hope through this class that it will give me a better understanding on how to write properly and effectively.
