"...It was the Age of Gargoyles..."

These words stick in my mind whenever I watch
GargoylesGargoyles is about mythical beings known as Gargoyles who find themselves in modern-day New York City.  This series isn't your typical Disney show, which is what attracted it to me in the first place.  But let's not get into opinion now.  The Gargoyles were turned to stone, for over a thousand years, to a curse.  They'd only become flesh once again if the "castle rose above the clouds." A man named Xanatos managed that, and they were set free.  The show really is mostly about how they adapt to a new world, with new rules, and how they adapt so that they can do what they do best, protect.

The show combines elements of Science Fiction and Fantasy to it's plot lines.  You'll even see some legend put in there, and as per
Disney, the legends are altered.  However, unlike Disney, they aren't watered down so much.  In fact, the fact of the matter is that if you watch Gargoyles, you'll think someone other than Disney made the show.  This show has no musical numbers, the main female protaganist is not only more than capable of beating up a few people, she's even smart as well! And it's got violence, and no general happy endings for the most part.

There were three seasons of
Gargoyles.  The first two are simply known as the show of Gargoyles, with 64 episodes.  The last season only had thirteen episodes, and is known as The Goliath Chronicles.
