| Linkin Park started off as a band named 'Xero' in 1996 by Mike and Brad. When they first started the band consisted of only Mike, Joe, Rob, Brad, Phoenix and Mark. Mark left the band before they renamed themselves [Hybrid Theory]. Things just didn't work out for him, but he is and always will be a really good friend to the band. He works as Taproot's manager now. At first the band just played around for awhile and started getting a lot of attention from their friends so they decided to set up there first live show. They played with System of a Down and SX-10. They started getting serious with their music, but all the labels weren't really catching on so two years later they changed their name to 'Hybrid Theory' (thats when Chester joined the band.) Chester had been in a previous band called 'Grey Daze'. They met (Chester and Xero) from Chesters law firm. The firm told Xero to send a demo to Chester and for him to add or make up his own lyrics to add to the demo. When the band heard what Chester added they were excited and told him to fly to LA as soon as possible. Once Chester was in the band they focused on making demos and getting whoever was interested in hearing the new sound and getting demos out to them. Once they finally got signed on Warner Brothers, they changed their name to 'Linkin Park' to avoid legal rights to another band who already had the name 'Hybrid Theory'. The Project Revolution Tour is now over. Linkin Park is featured on CD's like: Queen of the Damned, Cyclefly, Family Values 2001 and X-Ecutioners.
