Shelter Cove, California
One of the nicest places we have ever stayed at was the Lighthouse Inn at Shelter Cove in Humboldt County, Northern California.

The Inn is a one suite guest house, so we were the only ones there.

The  suite has a tower accessed by a spiral staircase. There is a 360 degree view right out over the ocean.  We spent many hours just sitting up there, watching the surf, drinking wine and snacking and listening to music.  Very relaxing!
That's Jerry standing in the tower.
Here is a view of the Inn with the tower.  The Inn has its own private beach accessed by this wooden staircase carve from a single redwood.
Great view of the surf.
Here's the spriral staircase up into the tower.
Another sunset!

There were great tidepools at low tide with sea anemones, crabs and other critters.
