This week's card of the week is Blastoderm. Blastoderm has many uses and abilities which greatly help it be arguably the best creature in type 2.

First off lets list the ways you can kill a Blastoderm: Wrath of God, Blocking with multiple or bigger creatures, letting it fade away. That's about it. You cannot use targeted destruction because it cannot be target of spells or abilities. Usually you cannot block it and kill it because it is a monstrous 5/5. You can get him out by third turn with a Lanwar Elves or Birds of Paradise. A third turn 5/5 is very hard to deal with. With it's fading counters it can only deal 15 damage if it get's through every time+if you are using fires of yavimaya it can do a humongous 20 damage to take the win! If you are looking for a good solid creature in any green deck I would greatly suggest you use blastoderm for it's speed, power, defense and cool picture!Thank you wizards of the coast for such a solid creature!
