Hi, I'm Jerh9e1k5. I may not be the best writer, or the smartest but I'm going to write a few articles for this site because you the visitor's need content. Today I'm going to talk about my theory on decks. When I look at someone's deck that just won the pro tour I see that it is very simply constructed. Usually a deck will consist of 2 themes and a sub-theme. For example let's look at G/W it will usually have aggressive creatures and some control as the themes. As sub-themes it will have Eladamri's call (for GW, search your library for a creature card, reveal it and put it into your hand) and maybe some of the tutors. The themes will have to be balanced and you must know how to play the deck. As an example we will re-create a simple blue control deck. When you look at a blue control deck it usually consists of 3 things.

1) Counterspells
2) A Kill card (Morphling or mahamoti djinn)
3) Card Drawing (Fact or Fiction)

The counterspells and the kill card are both themes, while the
sub-theme is card drawing. (I consider counterspells as a
theme because so many decks are just based around it)

For the deck we will first need the counterspells:

4 Foil
4 Thwart
4 Counterspell

Then we will need our kill card(s):

4 Morphling

And our card drawing:

4 Fact or Fiction
4 Accumulated knowledge

And more control:

4 Bribery
4 Treachery
2 wash out

And our lands:

22 island
4 rishadan port

The final deck looks like this:

4 foil
4 thwart
4 counterspell
4 morphling
4 fact or fiction
4 acc. knowledge
4 bribery
4 treachery
2 wash out
22 islands
4 rishadan port

That should be a pretty good deck, certainly tournament worthy! Feel free to copy it! I hope you've enjoyed my first ever article!
