The Gutenberg Project ..This is a rather marvellous website where one can download thousands of books for free!

The Lake District..Pictures of the Lake District; the website changes pictures daily. The website is run by a postman who lives in the Lake District and uploads pictures which he takes on his daily walks.

Virtual Lake District..Somewhat different to the previous website in that the pictures are not changed at regular intervals and are more of the chocolate box variety.

John William Waterhouse..This website is a tribute to the British painter John William Waterhouse (1849-1917). It aims to be a central repository of information about Waterhouse's life and work. Waterhouse is best known today for his paintings illustrating literature and mythology (for example, The Lady of Shalott from Arthurian Mythology, and Ophelia from Shakespeare's Hamlet).

A Virtual Tour of Washington D.C...The Virtual Tour of Washington D.C. Clicking a building opens a new browser window linking to either a tour of the building, the history of the building, or in the case of museums, a tour of the exhibits available online. When finished viewing the selected site, simply close its window to return to this map of Washington, DC. Some buildings contain more than one link, and some green spaces have links. More buildings can be found on the Buildings and Monuments page
