| Transformers: The Movie Site: www.transformers.com Starring: Orson Wells, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Idle, Robert Stack (all voices) Synopsis: In 2005, the decepticons have taken over the Autobot home world of Cybertron and began a full assault on the earth bound transformers. The battles lead to the death of Optimus Prime and many others and leads to a battle over the Matrix and the introduction of the planey devourer Unicron. Review: Okay, this is my favorite movie of all time so I'm really biased on that front and the fact I've always been a huge fan of Transformers. The movie is awesome and will go down as the most controversial and lover cartoon series to big screen transition of all time. The movie's premise is simple with good vs evil and allows new viewers to fall into its plot by killing many of the old heroes and introducing new ones. Likewise, the death of Optimus Prime is still a great moment in the history of the Transformers as is the introduction of the Matrix and power in contains. If you're a fan, you must see this movie and if not, give it a try, this is what sums up the 80's animation to a T and will show you just why the series has such a cult like following equal to Star Wars. Rating: 9/10 DVD: The transfer is awesome, though without wide screen (the original print of the film could not found to do so), the extra, while few, are interesting with story boards and a fascinating interview with composer Vince DiCola. The menu is also great, especially with the rock version of the Transformers theme playing in the background. Rating: 8/10 (remember, this is for the DVD content not the movie!!)
