In September and October 1998, I backpacked across Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. I didn't bring back any souvenirs or photographs; instead I brought back two sketchbooks of drawings.

I selected some of them for this page. They represent my adventure in the Nordic countries: it was my first trip outside of America, one in which I was forced to learn how to get around, find food and accomodation, communicate with people in other languages and visit a lot of interesting places.

All the sketches are just that--sketches. My intention was to record the places and people I saw. Some of them are rough, but I still wouldn't change any of them. They are, for me, perfect souvenirs from a great trip.
