Question: To celebrate the wonderful time we had with our grandparents yesterday, I thought we would share some of our own memories.  What lasting memories from your childhood do you have of your grandparents
My favorite memory should be a bad one, but to look back on it, it was hilarious!  My sister, Sarah, and I had a huge fondness for our grandparents garden.  Grandma Ruby and Papaw Austin grew the most wonderful vegetables and my sister and I loved them best raw and fresh out of the garden.
One day, Sarah and I snuck into the garden while Grandma Ruby was busy cleaning the house.  Just like the groundhog who was forever foraging her vegetables, my sister and I spied the peas!  If you have never eaten raw peas, you have missed one of lifes greatest pleasures.  Sarah and I probably ate one whole row completely clean!
We were almost ready to pop when, to our horror, there was Grandma with her apron on and her hands on her hipsstaring at us and then looking all around for a good switch off a nearby bush.  Sarah and I squealed and ran as fast as we could out of the garden.
Grandma never had to punish us though.  A ton of raw peas can do that to you.  Our tummies were messed up all night!  Still, the memory of Grandmas garden brings a smile to my face, and now I encourage Ally and Barrett to munch out of our own!
