"All the principals acting is pitched in line with the tone of the fantasy, but wonderfully real to aid the make-believe, and apart from a second or two of unnatural, group direction-following, the Lost Boys are also refreshing and endearing. "Every moment in this film feels like we are stuck somewhere in a place between a dream and reality - Between our adulthood and childhood. Peter Pan offers the best of both worlds, to both worlds. It is a bittersweet tale like no other, best to be embraced in a dark theatre along with both those precious children and those ardent adults casting their eyes dreamily at the aura on the screen. Peter Pan is basically a visionary retelling of the simple, yet so very complex story of the boy that refused to grow up. Perhaps the boy who lives within each of us still... "Peter Pan is so rich for exploration (sexual, developmental, or otherwise) that the moments where Hogan regresses by resorting to dog reaction shots and condescending score stings are more disappointing than usual. The picture is sullied (fatally, truth be told) by populist meddling, but there remain enough beguiling bits and pieces to suggest a certain longevity outside its intended family audience. It's not a good movie, but it's almost a great one, and for what it's worth, there's a space reserved on my shelf for it right between Batman Returns and Babe: Pig in the City..." ( full review )

"I guess my favorite part of the film is the theme of staying young. I love that Peter will never leave Neverland. He will play forever, never having to worry about taxes or wars, relationships or mortgages. The idea is as fetching as it was almost a hundred years ago. I get so tired of being a grown-up. There are times when I long for the endless summers of youth, when playing football and riding your bike were the only items on a day's agenda. I never got this feeling from the previous incarnations of Peter Pan..." ( full review )

"This is definitely a must-see for everyone! Not only is it quite possibly the most visually stimulating movie in the world, the story is helped along by the film's frank and witty remarks and spot-on humor. Unlike Spielberg, who butchered the real thing with his plot twists and turns and had some people crying foul with "Hook;" Hogan stays true to the original story, and just touches it up here and there. This should be a special treat for the children, and the child in the rest of us. Quite simply one of the most enjoyable films of the year!" (full review)
