
This seems to be one of the most popular works of art in the world, which is odd given it's morbid subject matter. As a kid, all of my elderly relatives had at least one copy of it, with one great aunt having 8 or 9.  Most of those were actually very tackily done, with one very memorable one being very strikingly colored - brilliant, almost neon colors, and it would reflect the light. The background was aquamarine, which is a color I'm not sure really existed either in
the middle ages, or the during Jesus's time.

Anyway, this is a more faithful version than those.

This took quite a bit of work - the T-mogger had trouble scaling down
the zoomed in view (it wouldn't line up the 2 sprites correctly, leaving a huge gap between them), so I had to redo the sprites
for the smaller views. Which was a bit of a pain, but worth the
effort, I think.
