Yes, I use a default UI. I find this to be the least obtrusive and distracting to me. For the first year of my game play, I had a computer that wouldn’t do add ons at all. I got really used to my screen looking this way and have not yet found a need for anything more. I use Omen threat meter and Deadly Boss Mods, but I keep both turned off unless I am running an instance. If there are others I need, I would just have to be told which.

On the action bars- left side bottom is bear oh-shit-healing!keys and a few buffs, right side bottom are questing item links I switch for dailies. Right side vertical bar is for things I typically use out of combat. As you may have guessed, I’m a miner and an herbalist.

Previous raiding: Kedreeva was raised as an alt to my hunter, who was raiding into T6, and as she was not allowed into the main raid group, she didn’t make it very far in BC. I went into T5 pre-nerf, as that’s about where I was at gear-wise, and where my friends were socially. Post-nerf I explored T6 with an off-guild just to see the place. Post expansion, I have raided Arc 10/25, Sarth 10/25 and Naxx 10 (full clears). I have yet to set foot inside an organized Naxx 25, and though I have the key to Maly 10, have not been to 10 or 25. I have done my best but there is only so much I can do alone.

WWS Parses: None available.

Consumables: Blackened Dragonfin (+40 agi/stam), Elixir of Mighty Agility(+45agi)/Elixir of Protection(+800 armor). It might be cheaper to flask, but I find the for druid tanks, it is cheaper in all senses of the word.

Tell us about your last guild(s) and the history with why are you choosing us over them:

  • Citadel – Citadel originally came from the realm Thorium Brotherhood, and transferred here to enable them to raid more and better. I followed them on my then-main, a BM hunter named Meillyn and was a raider for a time. I had to stop raiding due to the nature of my live-in job. Kedreeva was born as Aislynn in this guild, as an alt. Around level 55 or so, I left Citadel as an alt to help some friends of mine forge the guild <Fruit Vendors Militia> and tool around with them while leveling. Meillyn remained in the guild as family member and as my main.
  • Fruit Vendors Militia – Briefly stayed here until my friends stopped logging on. Then left at the behest of a friend of mine to come play in the guild her alt belonged to at the time.
  • Mehwinter- After leaving FVM, I resided here as a friend of a member until <Mehwinter> disbanded. Was here from about level 60 until I was running Kara as a fresh 70 alt. I had a lot of fun questing and hanging out here.
  • Epic – My younger brother had recently become a part of this guild and asked that I come help them in Gruul’s and Magtheridon’s Lair. By this time I’d fallen quite in love with my druid and was mainly on her instead of Meillyn. I helped them raid Gruul’s and Mag’s and started to see some of TK and SSC with them. They were a good bunch, really friendly and chatty, and I was glad to be helping out where I could. When their raiding died off due to attendance issues, my brother and I stepped out as well (along with about half the guild that left when I did).
  • Guildless period – I feel this is worth mentioning because I spent a couple of months wandering, choosing to remain without a guild while I explored my druid. I changed her name to something close to my heart and poured myself into experiencing as much as I could about feral tanking. On this journey, I acquired a great love for heroics, both with friends and with pugs.
  • Citadel- I rejoined <Citadel>, now as a main rather than an alt, and have been there since. At expansion, I leveled Kedreeva to 80, got as much gear as I could outside of 25-man raids, tailored my work and college schedules to fit their raiding days, and requested to join the 25-man raids. I was told that there were already four tanks and thirty-two raiders and that sitting people defeated the system. I saw no point in leaving a raid-ready toon to rot, so I am now seeking a home that will have some use for me. I left on the evening of the 15th of January.
  • Why <Midwinter> - First and foremost because I have a few friends here already with whom I would appreciate being able to spend more time. Secondly because I have never had a bad time with anyone from <Midwinter>. The members I have grouped with and met have always been kind, they have always known what they are doing, and I always end up having fun with them.

My decision to leave <Citadel> was not made lightly, nor was it made in tandem with my decision to apply here. They are separate decisions; whether or not I join <Midwinter>, I would not have stayed with <Citadel>.

If the question arises whether or not I would go back to them if an opportunity presents itself, the answer is absolutely not. I will be honest and say that I do now and will forever consider them to be my family; we have been through enough to have earned that sort of bond. But I will not raid with them again.

Tell us how you play your class, and how it makes you stand apart from others:

Kedreeva was born to be feral; she has been a tank since her first talent point. I grew up feral, learning the ins and outs of the spec. I strive to be a good, patient tank that isn’t easily forgotten. I think it’s worked; I find it rare to log in without someone asking me to tank something.

As for the particular mechanics of how I play my class, my first objective is generally to lay out a lead of threat (usually via maul-mangle-lacerate) on a main target so the DPS don’t pull and enough on the rest (via swipe, glyph of mangle hitting additional targets) that the healer won’t pull while I tab lacerate and mangle through the crowd, swiping and mauling in between counts. I rarely have to use my AoE taunt and typically rely on omen and growl to keep errant mobs beating on my head instead of the members of my party or raid.

I gem and enchant for stamina and agility, with stamina first and agility second. All of my gems except for one are stamina (and the 1 is a red +16 agi gem to keep my meta active). I’m currently using the +32 stam/2% armor meta. I’ve put some consideration into the +32stam/2% less spell damage taken meta, but I haven’t had enough of a problem with spell damage to make a change.

The best quality I have is a deep love for my class and for my spec. I love to tank as a druid. Whatever it is, if I can tank it, I am in fatty-form, knee deep in mobs with a group at my back, and that makes me a happy bear. I truly enjoy heroics, and strangely enough, I enjoy running with pugs. I never know who will have better or worse gear, who will attack with an aimed shot after I faerie fire, who will body pull what group of mobs while the healer is drinking. I like being kept on my toes! I’m also pretty sure I am one of the only tanks who, while tanking, enjoys regularly finding ways to battle rez that DPS or healer who just didn’t get out of the fire/WW/blizzard in time.

I also enjoy running with a set group repeatedly. I feel this gives flexibility to a run, allowing for experimentation and learning. It is a different sort of pleasure to run with a group who knows everything they need to do and can do it without being told.

A final point I would like to touch on is that of feral DPS. I don’t often DPS (feral DPS, not so fun akshully), but when I do I find I am freed to perform a wider variety of tasks- innervate a healer, brez people, off heal, cleanse poisons, dispel curses, etc. I find druids to be incredibly useful tools to have in group.

What do you have bound to your 1-5 keys?

Of course this depends on what form I am in at the time. Faerie Fire is bound to the same key for all forms (5) and the first four keys involve attacks or pathways to attacks (bear/cat form shifts). Oh-shit!keys and finishing moves get to be on the right side of the number line.

Dire Bear

  1. Lacerate
  2. Swipe
  3. Maul
  4. Mangle
  5. Faerie Fire (feral)

Cat

  1. Ravage
  2. Claw
  3. Rake
  4. Shred
  5. Faerie Fire (feral)

Caster

  1. Bear form
  2. Cat form
  3. Moonfire
  4. Wrath
  5. Faerie Fire

Tell us about yourself. Show us the man/woman behind the character. And impress us, make us laugh. Convince us we want you in our guild. If you don't take the time to sell yourself, there's no reason for us to want to take you. We've worked hard to make this a great place to raid and demand incoming candidates prove they're committed to continuing that.

Let’s see… I’m 23 years old, I write science-fiction and fantasy novels in my spare time (yanno, between school, working overnights at the police station, Not Sleeping Much, mass quantities of homework, and harassing the cat), and I live in Michigan. I loves me some snow, and we certainly do get a lot of it; my house is buried under a foot of new snow at the moment.

I love to swim and to scuba dive; I’ve been scuba diving since I was 12 and dreaming of scuba diving since I was 8 and met my first diver. Since then I’ve taken many diving trips, mainly to Florida, and once to Australia to dive the reef (THE reef, all others pale in comparison!). They told us not to touch the sea turtles. I did anyway. I have no regrets!

For the most part I am quiet, patient, and fiercely loyal to those I love. I generally have a good sense of humor and like to share the good times with friends. My friends are in the very bad habit of setting themselves up to be teased, but I get as good as I give most of the time. Though it rarely happens, I am honest about being angry or upset and will leave issues alone until I can be calm about them. I try to make a habit of never saying anything about someone behind their back that I would not say to their face.

I currently work overnights at the police station on campus at my college as a dispatcher. At the moment my shift is 1am-7am a few nights a week, three of which do happen to be on nights you raid. The schedule was perfect for <Citadel>’s raid times, but I believe with a couple of shift trades I would be able to make the majority of your raid hours.

I’ve been playing Warcraft since the fifth grade and the first game, when a friend of mine brought me a copy of it for my birthday. I own copies of all the previous games, and I’m really into the lore of the world. What can I say, I’m a storyteller at heart and can appreciate when there’s an excellent story to tell!

Fun fact: Originally my druid was named after my retarded cat, Aislynn (she aspires to be as smart as bricks one day), and later changed the name to fit a female dragon character in one of my stories. And yes, I’m a girl in real life too. We exist, swears!
