Like a little kid at Christmas time.  I could not wait to see this movie.  As a desperate lover of A Few Good Men.... (ummm.. no bad ideas here ok... I'm talking about the movie)...
At any rate, with a whoopin' 10.something million this week and a 12.something million last week, I'm thinking I should be in the movie business.

Oh, let me get back to the movie...

Hey wait,  I found out that with 11 nominations, Jack Nicholson is the most nominated person in the Academy Awards to date.

Ok, now back to the movie.  The movie was done well in my humble opinion, with Tommy Lee Jones having a little more screen time than Samuel L. Jackson, but the performance that Jackson gave was as equally strong and emotional.

Just as I was trying to figure out how I thought the movie would play out at the end, my thoughts were interrupted by a spectacular belch from my roommate, who by the way, looked like he was surprised that kind of noise came from him.  After telling him that he was rude, (in so many words), I concluded that I had no conclusion.

The suspense keeps going right up to the end.  A must see for military folk, and an unquestionable go-see for people who think they can judge what those in the military  go through just by what they read in the papers.

Silence of the Lambs:  A wonder for it's time.  Cutting edge of testing the audience of their take on the sick and most demented of killers.
Hannibal:  "How Gross Can We Make This", proved it's capibility of disgusting everyone in the last ten minutes of the film.  Wasn't as good as Silence.

Red Dragon:
"A date with an old lover, except there's no climax at the end of the night".

My head is reeling with what to think about this movie.  It's not as powerful as the first one, nor is it as gross as the second one, but it kinda holds it's own.  It also seems to leave a great many loose ends to be tied by a person if they cared to think about it.  I think about movies and about their characters when I evaluate them in my head.  I don't care to have to assume too much or have to ask any questions... only because there is no one i can ask.  Like, "Dude, you forgot to explain what this meant".
Example, "Shortbread".   (I think I kinda get the drift, but how did the character arrive to his conclusion).

I predict that the next Hannibal movie will have both "Will" and "Clarice" in them.  I only hope that they make the conversations with Lector more fun, more trivial, more twisted but yet explanatory.  The audience wants to see Lector lend his hand to the detectives... that's what they pay for.

On a side note, there seems be a lot of things to do with bathroom habits and toilets in ths movie...

I give it a Jer Star value of 2.6
