| Behind Enemy Lines I've taken some time to think about what I wanted to say about this movie. The best I could come up with... It's kinda "cocky" and a little unrealistic. I hate when they take a perfectly good idea with a movie... and embellish the realistic nature of the things they use. Aka weapons. But only picky people like me get disgusted with such things. The other note... is the Blair Witch like photography in the middle of the movie. Perhaps there might be some folks who are impressed with the amateur like photography. I'm not one of those. It's jumpy... and it kinda makes ya ill watching it. On the other hand, it's full of action, witty lines, and some pretty explosive scenes. I'll be nice and hand it a 2.5 Jer Stars... | Brotherhood of the Wolf aka Le Pacte des loups After seeing the TV promotion of this movie, I wanted to see it. Then i found out it was extremely limited theater wise. Without too much problem, I found somewhere (two hours and half hours away.... I was just lucky I was visiting Bill anyway). Bill and I ventured to this all french, english subtitled movie. I think around midway in the film, I stopped noticing the french. The people around me should be thankful for the French, considering I had to pay attention to the subtitles, my mouth was a little more quiet than usual. Contrary to what the guy said about the movie that sold us our tickets, ("the movie is all in french you know...has something to do with vampires"), There were no vampires per se, but was a scene containing the lickage of blood. (Bill was extremely interested in this gal... he'd be surprised to know that she'll be in the Matrix Reloaded (part III)). It starts out raw. Sets the mood for the rest of the movie. I'm sure it was an adoring scene where the head of a terrified blonde gets used like a sledge hammer into a good sized rock. I'm not quite sure, my eyes were turned. Besides that, what was dictated in the TV promotion stayed true to the movie. A good deal of action, some good fight scenes, and several wolves here and there. Only bad thing about his movie, it was very much like starting out in the middle of a book. The character development was non-existent and leaves a great deal of questions at the end of the movie. I give the movie 3 Jer Stars and I give Emilie Dequenne 4 Jer Stars. (sigh) Brotherhood of the Wolf |
| Blade II Blade - "You're Human" Guy - "Barely, I'm a lawyer." One word... "Fun"... I saw the first one when it came out. Mind you, I know it wasn't the best of flicks, but I enjoy a good kick ass movie. So, I wasn't expecting anything different about this one when I went to see it. I wasn't even in the first five minutes of the film when I thought to myself,,, "Yeah, this is gonna be fun to watch". I got what I expected. Good action with some "kick ass" moves. Not so bad a plot. 2.5 Jer Stars Blade II |
| The Bourne Identity Vacation time is a great time of year. Get to sit back and relax, and perhaps take in a movie or two or three or..... Some Preview predictions comin at ya now... Blue Crush - (Flop) Considering it's a movie based around girls... the T&A factor might kick in. And considering that it's supposely strong willed girls doing sometimes bad things... that might help it a little, but i'm not gonna be rushing out this lifetime to see it. 8 Mile - (Flop) A movie for the Eminen fans... and that's about it. Reign of Fire - (Theatre Watch) This one is about a time when dragons are introduced back into the picture of the world. Starring Matthew McConaughey, looks to be interesting. K-19: The Widowmaker - (Rental) Harrison Ford as a Sub Captain. Is supposely based on a true story. I'll wait till I can lay down on my futon to watch this one. City By The Sea - (Theatre Watch) - Robert De Niro, need I say more? He plays a cop (not much of a change of venue), who has to choose to help out his boy who maybe in serious trouble. As for the The Bourne Identity. It's always fun to watch someone who can't remember who they are. It lends to a character an amazing depth (if done right) of development. Matt Damon plays a pretty good kick ass type a guy. Maybe sometimes a lil more dramatic than need be, but he's making the big bucks, not me. Though to be honest, I don't think I'd ever let him cut my hair. The Action is good. It might leave a question or two depending on how much you pay attention to the film. 2.99 Jer Stars The Bourne Idenity |
