Earlier today, a battered YT-1300 Freighter jumped
out of hyperspace at Alderaan coming from…Neimodia, which recently cut itself
off from Galactic Civilization. It was
found by a civilian luxury yacht, who boarded the freighter in search of
survivors. The freighter is reported to
have been badly damaged in a firefight and it’s amazing it was able to make the
jump to Lightspeed. It is reported there
was only one survivor left on board, though he died soon after. His last words: “Tell the Lady that the Hammer
is dropping.”

***State of the Confederacy Address***
My fellow Freedom Fighters,
This morning at 0300 Galactic Standard Time, the Separatist Confederacy launched a counterstrike mission against the system of Corellia, putting them just one jump away from Coruscant. Despite many peaceful overtures, the Galactic Senate and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine have chosen war. So be it. It is with great reluctance that the Separatist Council unanimously decided to send our forces into the fray, for we know that war has no certainty but the certainty of sacrifice.
Yet, the only way to reduce the harm and duration of the war is to apply the full force and might of our military, and we are prepared to do so. We are acting now because the corruption of the Senate has shown that the risks of inaction would be far, far, greater. In one year, in five years, the power of the Galactic Senate and its Clone Army to inflict harm on all the free peoples of the galaxy would be multiplied many times over. With this capability, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine and his power-hungry allies could choose the moment of conflict when they are strongest, when no one could possibly stand against them. We choose to meet that threat now, as it is rising, before any more can be crushed beneath its heel.
There is also a massive Republic fleet at Malastare, which we suspect has already launched to attack here on Eriadu. We stand ready to meet this threat, and any others that the Republic may send our way. They will discover that while we are a peaceful coalition, we are not a fragile coalition, and that from now on, any attack made upon us will be met with deadly force. Unlike the Jedi Council, the Separatist Confederacy can no longer stand aside and let the Republic threaten and seize the sentient beings of the Galaxy. We will show the Supreme Chancellor that we can, we will, fight to preserve our freedom. May the Force be with us all.
- The
Republic took the Separatist colony of Geonosis this last week, which has
sparked much of the news that the GHN has to report tonight. During the raids on Geonosis, Republic
Ground Troops found security footage from when the planet was a major
Separatist base, several months ago.
This footage has revealed many important facts, the first of which
relates to Count Dooku himself.
The
following picture was taken by Geonosis Security cameras, and was just recently
discovered during the Republic reconnaissance of the world. The picture, along with the captions, was
released to the GHN via the Republic Press core. Master Yoda and the rest of the Jedi council
has remained fairly quiet on the issue, but from the histories that the GHN has
access too, most people that wield a lightsaber against a Jedi in anger, are
considered to have crossed to what the Jedi call the ‘Dark Side.’
Some
would say that it is impossible to tell whether or not Count Dooku is fighting
Master Yoda in anger. That is a valid
argument, but further investigation into the following picture revealed that
Dooku also used powers that are only associated with this so called ‘dark
side.’
Our
sources inform us that Count Dooku is performing something called ‘force
lightning’ in this picture. ‘Force
Lightning,’ from our research, is only a dark, or evil power, used by those
that have turned to what the Jedi term ‘the dark side.’
An
anonymous Republic representative told the GHN that ‘I find this very
disturbing. I mean, I know that the
Republic can handle this situation, but it is scary to think that this Count Dooku
has studied the so called dark arts of the Jedi and has become lost to it. I know that the Jedi have long protected the
Republic, but when one of them goes bad and turns evil and corrupt like Dooku,
it can be a frightening thing.’
What
effect this will have on the worlds that have freely joined the Separatist
remains to be seen. The Supreme
Chancellor had this to say regarding the matter. “I would hope that the colonies of
this Universe that have willingly sold themselves into the clutches of this
Count Dooku, this evil and corrupt man, will reconsider who it is that they
have joined sides with. If it was not
clear before, I believe it can become no clearer than it is right now. This has become a battle between good and
evil. Count Dooku, with his display of
what the Jedi term ‘dark side force powers’ has made it clear that he stands on
the side of darkness, and of evil.”
During
our brief talk with the Supreme Chancellor, we also had a chance to speak to
him regarding the Commenor Rebellion. He
had this to say regarding the matter, and what the Republic would do about
it: “I fail to fully understand
what has occurred at Commenor. They
freely chose to join the Republic, and were not coerced in any way. For them to be considered in ‘rebellion’ is a
ludicrous matter. They are free to
choose who they would like to govern them.
If they wish to remain self governing, or to join the Hutt Empire, or
Corporate Sector Authority… they are free to do so. The Republic only has a problem with those
nations that choose to side with the Separatist. We are at war with them. A just war.
A war to push back this evil Count Dooku who seeks to harm this great
and noble Republic. Just as our colonies
are at risk from invasion by Separatist forces, colonies that side with the
Separatist run the risk of repercussions from the Republic. The people of Commenor are free to choose,
since they have chosen neutrality, the Republic will respect their neutrality.

surrounding Neimodia, we are issuing a Code Red alert. Code Red is our highest alert level. The reason for the increase from

remind our viewers in Republic lands, a Code Red warning means that you should
always try and listen to your local emergency station for news regarding your
current threat level. Also, make sure
you are stocked up on food and supplies that can last you for several
weeks.
Now we go
live to the Rhommamool system for this breaking news. The Republic has re-entered the system in
force, in an attempt to overthrow President Sher’dan whom they say was in
collusion with Separatist forces in the resent destruction of a Republic
Acclemator at Malastare last week. We go
live now to our reporter on the scene.
“We’ve
been talking with the Republic captain in system, and he showed us these
photo’s of President Sher’dan that were confiscated during the attack on
Geonosis last week. These photo’s cleary
show the President of the Rhommamool system, and some Geonosians, meeting with
the Separatist Leader, Count Dooku.
I talked with the Republic Captain
of the fleet here in Rhommamool and he had this to say: “With the large amount
of evidence that has been piling up against President Sher’dan, the Republic
could no longer ignore his collusions with the Separatist. He has been found responsible for the destruction
of the Acclemator orbiting Malastare last week, and broke the treaties he had
signed with the Republic. The Republic
is here to give back Rhommamool to it’s people.
President Sher’dan has betrayed his people, and the galaxy long
enough. His tactics, that violate all
galactic laws for war time conduct, clearly evidence his mindset. This man must, and will be brought to
justice.”
It would
appear that the Republic has decided to take a very hard line with the
President of the Rhommamool system. But
the Republic has also made it very clear that this war is not against the
people of Rhommamool, but only against their leader and his band of rebels that
have declared war on the Republic. Back
