THE OLD SHOP
This is My shop. It's a 2 car garage with a 4'x10' area walled off for storage. I have to admit I have one hell of a good landloard for letting me turn the garage into a woodshop
THE NEW SHOP
This is my new shop, It is  a 16' x 32'  wood frame steel skinned beast. It was delivered  in November 2003 without the roof, the roof was assembled onsite. Total setup time about 4 hours. I have been working on this thing since I got it but only in my spare time
As you can see It has plenty of lights. The roof is 14' tall in this area. the lights are 12' from the floor
1/2 of the building has a loft for storage. I built it and a wall to seal it off from the dust that will be in the shop
Everything is a mess in this picture but you can see there is a 6' x 10' room in the back just for my legacy mill. The picture below shows what will be a bathroom that is next to it.
You ncan see some of the lighting in the low ceiling area.
There are 5 12' tracks and 5 12' florescent fixtures. All of the lflorescent fixtures use t-8 rapid start bulbs
Here are some pictures of the foam insulation I had installed. It is an open cell foam insulation with an R- 30 per 3". My walls are 2x4" and the foam has an average of 3.5" thickness.  The foam on the ceiling varies from 4" at the sides to almost 8" thick at the peak
The attic is also insulated.

also you can see the new GE 35 gallon water heater.
I recently decided it was time to finish my shop, so I managed to get together enough money and here is what I have done.
left: Covered all the walls in the main foom with 1/2" T1-11 exterior siding. Bottom left and right: Added a 3.5' wide loft around 2 sides of the main room, gives me a little more off the floor storage.
I added a small room to house my dust collector and possibly my air compressor (still undecided). The room will be completly sealed and insulated with all return air passing through a filter. the DC is getting a canister filter upgrade.
I also finished off the one room no shop can be without.
