OVER IN THE BARNYARD
Sung to: "Down by the Station"
Over in the barnyard
Early in the morning
See the yellow chickies
Standing in a row
See the busy farmer
Giving them their breakfast.
Cheep, cheep, cheep, cheep.
Off they go.
Repeat, substituting the word "duckies" for "chickies"and "quack" for "cheep".

BRIGHT SUN
Sung to: "Row, Row, Row Your Boat"
Bright sun shining down,
(Move hands down slowly, fingers apart.)
Shining on the ground
What a lovely face you have,
(Hold arms in circle above head.)
Yellow, big and round.

Baby Bumblebee
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee, Won't my mommy be so proud of me, (Cup hands together as if holding bee)

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee, Ouch! It stung me! (Shake hands as if just stung)

I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
('Squish' bee between palms of hands)

I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee,
Ooh! It's yucky!
(Open up hands to look at 'mess')

I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
(Wipe hands off on shirt)

I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Now my mommy won't be mad at me!
(Hold hands up to show they are clean)
Hand Washing Song

Need:
Voices sung to the tune of row row your boat

wash, wash, wash, your hands
play our handy game
rub and scrub, scrub and rub germs go down the drain HEY!

Wash, Wash, Wash your hands
play our handy game
rub and scrub, scrub and rub dirt goes
down the drain HEY!

If children was their hands with soap and water during the time it takes to sing this song then they will have effectively cleaned them well
Clean Up Song

Clean-up,
Clean-up,
Everybody, Everywhere!
Clean-up,
Clean-up,
Everybody do your share
Five Little Fire Fighters

Five little firefighters
(show five fingers)
Sleeping in a row.
(rest cheeks on hands & close eyes)
Ring goes the bell-
Down the pole they go.
(Pretend to slide down pole)
They jump on the engine
(Jump Up)
And put out the fire.
(Pretend to squirt with a hose)
Now they're back home-
My, but they're tired.
(Stretch and yawn.)
Teeny, Tiny Spider

Sung to the tune &quotEensy, Weensy Spider&quot

Teeny, tiny spider,
Climbed under a big bridge.
(sitting on floor, child moves wiggling hand under raised knees.)

Down came the bridge,
And knocked the spider out.
(child brings knees down on hand.)

Up went the bridge,
(child raises knees.)
And never again,
Did the teeny, tiny spider
Go under a big bridge.
(Child moves wiggling hand out from under knees.)
Rain Fingerplay

Pitter Pat, pitter pat (drum fingers on floor), the rain goes on for hours. And though it keeps me in the house, it's very (hold hands palms up and closed into fists in front of you) good for (open fists) flowers (lift hands imitating flowers growing up).
Song: All the Bunnies...

Have children lying on the floor, pretending to sleep as the set up for this song. It can be done even in a relatively small space.

All the bunnies fast asleep,
All the bunnies not a peep,
If I should sing my song today,
Will all those bunnies get up and play?
(Children get up and hop around room)
Get up little bunnies hopping, hopping,
Get up little bunnies hop, hop, hop.
Get up little bunnies hopping, hopping,
Get up little bunnies hop and stop!

I do this several times in a row, and preschoolers just love it. The song can easily be adapted for any other animal or theme. ie.balloons - floating, frogs - leap, etc.
5 Pumpkins

Cute for pre-schoolers. Let your kids paint the styrofoam balls orange. Then have them glue popsical sticks together to make a fence. When dry, stick the balls in 5 of the popsical sticks so it looks like 5 pumpkins sitting on a gate. You can draw faces on the pumpkins. Then sing "5 Little Pumpkins"

5 little pumpkins sitting on a gate
The first one said "Oh my, it's getting late!"
The second one said "There are witches in the air!"
The third one said, "Well we don't care!"
The fourth one said "Let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said "I'm ready for some fun!"
Whoo-ooo went the wind
And out went the light
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!
