San Diego Weekend Getaway!!

Our first day we drove around and come across La Jolla which had great ocean views! Later in the afternoon we ventured to Sea World and made a visit to the tide pool to hold a starfish - Avelyn gave it a kiss but wouldn't hold it without immediately dropping it.

Avi's favorite animal continues to be birds - of any shape and size - so of course we had to stop to say hi to the flamingoes. There was a great kids area and she had so much fun running around these foam shapes with the other kids.

She also loved the sand box area which came complete with a tonka dump truck to fill and unload. Here she is at the end of the day enjoying some pretzels out of her snack trap - she left a few crumbs on the bed for us!

The next day we drove down to Coronado which is an island off the coast of San Diego. We came across Imperial Beach and walked along the pier to watch the surfers. Then played by the water - it was a bit cold to go in but we stripped her down to her shirt and then changed into her coverall in case she did get wet!

Later in the day we drove back up toward our hotel and stopped for lunch in Ocean Beach. They had a cool dog beach that had mutts running all around, in the water, playing fetch - we all had a great time watching!

There was a playground at the beach we stayed on at La Jolla so we made a few trips over to it to play on the swings and the jungle gym! We'll just say she had a really great time!

She must have gone up and down these steps and across to the sea wall about 20 times while we were out there!

We made it to the San Diego Zoo on Sunday afternoon. She got a kick out of the animals and really loved the elephants! On our last day we spent the early afternoon at Seaport Village to ride the carousel. She wasn't too excited about it at first but quickly perked up once the horse started going up and down and the carousel went around and around. She would get so excited to go around and see daddy waving at us!

More pictures to come as we take them!
