February. . .

Friday 28th
After a fun day - not too much work - I met Karen and Caz for a hotty choccy. The open fire was looking really beautiful and there were not many people there, thank goodness (last week it was to busy!)

Caz and I went to visit our nana who hadn't been feeling well - but we found her to be in quite high spirits and feeling a lot better.

Thursday 27th
It was a really frightening episode of Buffy tonight. I didn't like watching it alone. Thank goodness for Angel and a late night phone call from Clare to cheer me up and help me to forget about being scared!

Wednesday 26th
Today was the first 'big trip' to the museum this term - Karen, Clare and I were very excited. . .and then we found out that we could have been going throughout the winter! Even though it is officially closed, we would have been allowed to go in whenever we wanted!!!(It's local museum for local people!)
We walked up and around and fed the ducks. Various children took part in creating a 'tree of life' picture on the ground using items that they had found in the woods - it was huge and really got their creative spirits going

Monday 24th

AND. . .thanks so much Angel Jules for the exciting box of things that arrived this morning! I am on cloud 9!

Yummy Valentine Treats

It was my Nana's birthday today - and it was a BEAUTIFUL day for her! The sun shone all day and I drove with my little sister Smeg (you know, the 29 year old little one!) to take her some spring bulbs - bright yellow narcissus to welcome the seasons change. The air was so mild, with such a promise of spring to come, that we drove with the sun roof open and the windows down - for the first time this year. I do enjoy spring, you all know that I prefer autumn, but spring is great!

I finished off the afternoon with a trip to my favourite tearoom - but it was full of people! I am so used to being able to find a corner to hide in to drink my hot chocolate and read my book that I contemplated leaving and returning a little later. . .but lizzie (who makes the best hot chocolate) was on the till and she suggested going upstairs - I did, and it was beautifully empty! I sat alone at the largest wooden table (it seats 18!!!) kicked off my shoes and settled down for a good read. Karen came and found me a little later and we had fun with the lights ~ they were set with a motion control sensor. . .but we didn't know where that was, and every time the lights went off we had to do a little dance until they came on again!!!

Going there has become my 'thing' - it's a treat to myself for surviving another week. And it is a wonderful treat too - all open fires and organic food. But don't take my word for it:

"With its 18th Century facade and mediaeval interior, the terrace house is typical of the towns vernacular architecture. Inside, all has been sensitively restored and furnished, an eclectic mixture of beams, log fires and enticing hideaways"
Come and join me - I'm there most Fridays, from 5.30pm until they chuck me out! If you can't meet me, then take a little time out of your day to give yourself a present ~ a tip from Twin Peaks. . .
"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it, don't wait for it, just let it happen. Could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot, black coffee. Like this." -Dale Cooper

Tuesday 18th
I finally got to see The Lord of the Rings (Two Towers) tonight.
All I need to say is. . .Legolas. . .
. . .Oh, and New Zealand looked mighty fine too!!!

Thursday 13th
So, there was loads of news about the 2001 Census today. . .

'At the time the Census was carried out, there was an internet campaign that encouraged people to answer the religion question "Jedi Knight". The number of people who stated Jedi was 390,000 (0.7 per cent of the population)'
Erm. . .I am proud to admit that I am a Jedi! The force is strong with this one :o)

Saturday 8th

The Wonderstuff 2003

Click on this link and The Wonderstuff should pop up.

My card reader problems are no more. It's all ok now. I had a laborious morning of tweaking cables, unplugging devices and thinking hard. And after about the tenth tweak and reboot it all worked again!
When things go wrong I am reminded how little I know about computers. . .But obviously, my self proclaimed 'computer queen' status is back to normal now.

Thursday 6th

Happy Birthday Smeg!
My little sister is 29 today.
baby smeg & jen
Smeg and I met up with Essi, Lisa, Liz and Gav to see The Wonderstuff at Canary Wharf last night. And 'Oh my' - it was pretty damn fine! Miles hasn't changed one bit. . .ok, so he has extremely short hair, was wearing sensible trousers, looks slightly older and. . .ok ok. So he has changed a little bit on the OUTSIDE - but he's still my boyfriend!
I have images upon images to upload - but my damn memory stick reader isn't working?!!!

Wonderday 5th

ticket heaven

It's simon pegg!!!
Simon 'SPACED' Pegg was there too - note my self-conscious blurred photography!

Saturday 1st

01 : 02 : 03

I am starting a photo scavenger hunt today - well it officially started yesterday, but due to a time large difference it started after my bed time!
I have to find and photograph 30 items in 20 days - most seem quite simple. . .but I'm not sure about item 12: a person with a mohawk and a facial tattoo. There are not too many mohawk & tattoo clad people in my town!
