August. . .
monday 26th
I bought the new Coldplay album today - I have been waiting weeks for this, loving the song 'in my place' like I do. It is the first time in a long while that I've actually been in and asked when an album is coming out - I really don't buy much 'new release' or chart music. . .I tend to wait a few months for reductions in the sales!
Anyway, it is a cool cd. I got up early and drove to a supermarket, they sell chart cd's for 9.99 instead of the more usual 12.00
Why am I telling you this? Oh right, because I'm bored. . .but I have a great new cd that I want to talk about!!! And I share my birthday with the guitarist, Jon.
sunday 25th I am also heading to France for a day trip on Thursday - emily's mum needs supplies. . .and I have a big car! It's a perfect match, and I get another FREE trip to France. I am also heading to France for my birthday day - well that's the plan at the moment anyway. . .it's subject to change (it started out months ago as a week in Paris, was shortened to 3 days in Paris and recently reduced to a day trip to France). I don't mind what happens - just so long as I'm not in the UK on that day.
saturday 17th Please note that Jen would like to point out the following:
friday 16th What a little sweetie.
saturday 10th
monday 5th
Welcome to the world baby Alex!
saturday 3rd I have had a lovely week away from my unhealthy obsession that is BIG BROTHER! Well, apart from watching Kate's "Winners week" of course ~ an incredibly painful experience, starring her wanky cohorts and the more annoying housemates in lead roles.
I find it hard to believe that Jonny came second. . .did nobody hear the shit that guy used to speak? Did nobody hear his "they wouldn't have let me in if they knew what I was really like" speech or see him ply Kate with more alcohol, while she literally lay unconscious on the floor, "all in the name of fun" of course - oh and to get her to skinny dip in the pool. . .that would have been such 'great' tv? He had a nasty side to him - that, unless you watched the live coverage on E4, you didn't get to see it. He was hailed as 'fun jonny' - but I saw him as an incredible bore, with a nasty temper hidden very successfully under the surface (and he peed in the shower)!
I'm not going to talk about Jade - she should not have been there and it was crazy, media fuelled voting that ensured her place in the final 4 (you know who you are, Graham Norton and Chris Moyles!!!) I'm putting my money on her advertising chipsticks and tictacs before the year's out. Sad f*****g muppet.
And as for Kate - well she's a girl. A girl has won Big Brother. Kate likes football, and is a girl. A football loving girl won Big Brother. Whoop-de-doo! I don't think it counts for much, she was a two faced, back stabbing hussy. . .bless her!
Ahhh, Alex - he should have won. Basically, because he didn't care much if he did or not! He was an intelligent, scrupulous, well travelled and well mannered bloke with standards. . .his first mistake was going into that place expecting to meet like minded people. The majority turned out to be media hungry sad acts, who would sell their grandmother to catch a glimmer of the spotlight! Alex was also a bit of a hottie - which always helps!
There. . .this is better than therapy ~ I feel as though I have gotten that out of my system now and we can get on with the rest of the summer...without turning the tv on again for another year!
friday 2nd 1. What is your lineage? Where are your ancestors from?
2. Of those countries, which would you most like to visit?
3. Which would you least like to visit?
4. Do you do anything during the year to celebrate or recognize your heritage?
5. Who were the first ancestors to move to your present country?
News of holidays and day trips.
I'm going on a FREE holiday! I collected some tokens from a crappy newspaper (which I tossed straight into the recycle box - such a crappy no news newspaper) and I got a free flight one way, and return for 13! So, I shall be celebrating Halloween in the French Alps this year - for 13! I am very pleased.
I apologise for the lack of updates recently - I am in an alternative reality at the moment. Move over big brother. . .24 has hit jenville! Let me explain. . .I was so annoyed to have missed the first few episodes of 24 when it came on TV, about 23 weeks ago, that I vowed not to watch it at all until the whole series was shown again.
I thought I was going to have to wait at least a year, but NO - in this *'fabulous age of satellite television' the BBC, in their infinite wisdom, has been running the WHOLE series in back to back episodes for the past 5 nights!
So I, jen, have reached 7pm - and by the end of tomorrow I will have watched a whole **24 hours of television in one week. Yikes.
* She does not believe that this satellite age is actually that fabulous.
** 24 hours on the BBC is actually only 18 hours because they cut out the commercials :o) But having also watched '6 feet under', 'Scrubs' and the news it all adds up to about 24 hours. She is not proud of that.
So my new little cousin Alex is 11 days old!

I've had a great past week.
I spent a couple of superb days in London with smeg & A.
My new baby cousin was born.
I hardly had any work to do.
So, I woke to the gentle, melodic humming of a huge f**k off wasp - it was a giant in it's field and I was forced (because I'm such a 'girl') to leap out of bed in pantomime horror. . .you see, I was that child ~ the one who was always told to "stand still and it won't hurt you", and would then get stung anyway!
My patented method of sting prevention is as follows:
walk away
fast
in the opposite direction
flapping arms if totally necessary . . .
. . .generally, it is.
France and Ireland. But we're basically English. Although my uncle will correct me if I'm wrong. . . (. . .which he did! my mothers family are from Essex, UK since at least 1730. My fathers family were the Irish/French ones with a sprinkle of Yorkshire added for good measure!)
Love, love France.
N/A
Not especially - I love visiting France though and try to visit at least 3 times a year, and I give a nod to St.Patricks day. Does that count?
We're talking about the dark ages here! (well the 1700's anyway!)
