Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Jennifer. I live in California with my wonderful hubby and our two children!
I met my hubby in jr. high many years ago and we started dating when we were juniors in highschool. We married when we were both 21 and are still going strong. It is wonderful to be married to someone I know so well! He is very supportive of my child care business and is an awesome, very involved, daddy!
After our son was born, I really had a hard time locating quality child care where I felt comfortable leaving our precious baby! Fortunately, my dad retired the same week I had to go back to work and he helped us A LOT! I seriously considered becoming a provider at this time, but we were still living in a condo so decided to wait until we were able to purchase a home.
After the birth of our daughter 2.5 years later, we started looking for the perfect house! We found it and I went to the daycare orientation before we even moved in! As soon as we were moved in, I actively pursued receiving my child care license. 4 months after moving in I was officially licensed! I welcomed my first 2 daycare children into our family daycare in April of 1997. I was so excited to be able to be home for my children and have the opportunity to give other children and their parents the quality care they deserve!
I love children and have cared for them in one capacity or another since I was 9 years old! My first "babysitting" job was one full day a week during the summer. The mom brought her 1 year old to my mom's house where it was my responsibility to do it all! This 'child' is now 21 years old! I continued to work in the nursery at church and VBS. Anytime there were kids around, I was right there keeping them busy! Currently, I teach Sunday School at our church for 1st thru 6th grade. I am so grateful to have the chance to be such an important part of so many children's lives, as well as be able to be an 'at home mommy' for our children! All of the children in my program are treated as equals and allowed to develop at their own pace! All are encouraged to participate in our many activities, which include, but are not limited to the following:
~ Preschool Curriculum
~ Arts and Crafts
~ Gymnastics
~ Cooking and Food Preparation
~ Structured Play
~ Free Play
~ Many Field Trips
Our home features a wonderfully fun Rainbow Playground in our large, safe, fenced backyard. We have tons of riding toys and great outside activities! We also have an playroom with "too many" age-appropriate toys and books! We have lots of fun making a great mess and then cleaning it up!
All children will be encouraged to use their manners (please, thank you, no thank you, excuse me, etc,!) as their age permits! They will also learn many activities that will help them develop responsibilities, such as, setting the table, clearing the table, proper hygeine, clean up of toys and activities, respect of others, and many more!
