Jennifer's Family Day Care
September 2001 Newsletter!
Back To School!!
As summer comes to an end, the kids are anticipating getting back to "normal!" The first day of school is Wednesday, Sept. 5th. Please note that childcare will be closed as I will be taking a personal day that day!

Briana is very excited to be starting Kindergarten this year! Vicky can't wait til Wednesday and seeing all her school friends and to start 4th grade! Tyler has mixed feelings about it all! He enjoys summer and our easy days over school any day!!

Please remember that our schedule will change (and be tweaked) over the next few weeks to accomodate the new school schedules! We will be leaving here at 8 each morning to get the kids to school ontime. Pick up for the Kindergarteners will be 11:40. Pick up for Tyler and Vicky will be 2:50. If you arrive around these times and we are not here, we should be returning shortly! Please plan to arrive BEFORE we are scheduled to leave for drop offs or pick ups. Even the 2 or 3 minutes it takes to put another child into a carseat can make us late. Thanks for your help!
Just a Note...

We all had a wonderfully fun summer packed with some great outings! The kids seemed to enjoy all of them! Some more than others, but fun just the same!

On the other hand, I am looking forward to school starting and getting back to a lighter schedule, per se! Will be starting on some preschool activities and enjoying my little ones!

I am going to be moving my website to Geocities over the next few months. I like this format much better. Please give me your opinions on the newsletter this month using Geocities!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with me! I love them all!
~ Jennifer

The child care spaces are all full! I will accept a VERY part time child or two during the time that Briana and Jayde are in school so if you know anyone who is looking for minimal part time care, please let them know!

Meet the new children in our child care! Nathaniel started about a week and a half ago. He is 3.5 years old and loves playing with all his new friends! He especially enjoys playing with Drew! He was able to go on several field trips with us and had a great time! His mom, Melissa, accompanied us on our trip to San Francisco and the Aquarium so she has met many of the children! His dad is Jon. Let's all give them a warm welcome!

Jayde is enrolled, and her first day is Thursday, Sept. 6th! She is 5 and is going to be in the same kindergarten class as Briana! Her mom is Shelly. Please give them a warm welcome as well!

Fall Reminder! Please bring a sweatshirt to leave in your child's cubbie. We will keep the shorts and swimsuits for a while longer since we will likely have a warm Indian Summer!
Fundraisers!
As I have discussed with several of you, a fundraiser or two would be a great way to eliminate (or at least cut down!) the cost of our many field trips. Many parents said that they would prefer  cookie dough and Creative Memories fundraisers! I am waiting for the info on the cookie dough. For Creative Memories, we can have a "party" and invite family and friends to join us. Creative Memories charges $10 to attend their party (and create several scrapbook pages) and the $10 will go straight back to our childcare. Then we will recieve 15% of all purchases made. This will be a fun way to cut down on some of our field trip costs! Start saving several pictures to work on at the party! Once a date is set, I will let everyone know!
Scholastic Book Orders

With school starting again, I will once again offer parents the opporunity to order from Scholastic. What better way to encourage your children to read than to add to their home library from an inexpensive source?! Be sure to check the date on the back of each form for the monthly due date. Payment is due when order is placed!
Special Thanks...
To the many parents that accompanied us on all our great trips this summer!! We went some neat places and it is always nice to have parents come along. The kids enjoy it and I can always use the extra help! I would also like to take a moment to thank Ashley's mom, Sandra, for treating us to Chuck E Cheese for lunch this month! It was a fun day and the kids enjoyed it! Also, thanks to Matthew and his mom, Liz,  for a few snacks this month!! And to Drew and his mom, Lisa for snacks as well!! And last, but certainly not least, thanks again to Sandra, but this time for the yummy muffins she sent for breakfast!

All of your thoughtfulness is deeply appreciated and always makes my day!
