A presentation of me for employers, and others who want to know how I am. I do apologize for the presentation being somewhat drily and businesslike written, but it did start out as an online CV once. :)

Also, I've made a couple of personality tests on the net:

Presentation:

I am born and raised in Sweden, in the county of Olofstrm. My father, Mats, has worked very many years in the Volvo Olofstrm factory as a forklift operator, and my mother is a therapist at the adult psychiatric reception in Olofstrm. A somewhat unusual match, one might think, but they met at Volvo in the end of the 60's, when my mother came here to find work. She studied to become a therapist later.

After grammar and high school, i went to college in my hometown, where I studied natural science. This was probably the best time in my life as far. It wasn't too hard, and I liked it a lot. :)

When I had graduated, I went to military duty in F17 Kallinge airbase, where I was a doghandler.

After I had served, I became unemployed during the 90's depression, and I didn't know what I really wanted to do. As time passed, I became more and more restless. There was simple too my time to spend .Unemployment was for me very depressing, I felt 'un-needed' and this time was probably the worst time in my life .

But after quite a while, I found out what I wanted to do. :) The love of water and the creatures in it has always been the red thread in my life. When I was a boy, my mother always had to work very hard to get me out of the water when we went to the beach... :)

So, I moved to Kalmar university to study biology.

I also studied chemistry, geology, and planning of natural resources use. I got a very 'wide' education by this, and I also got interested in county enviroment planning, how the state works to keep our nature- /culture- / environment heritage intact, meanwhile also trying to fit in the society needs for growth and employment. Since it seems to be very hard to get a PhD sponsored ( I have a hard time begging for money...really hate that...), my goal with my studies has been to get a job in a county environment department, the responding state organ, or the fishieries department.

Because of this, I read all the courses in Kalmar who concerned natural resource management, environment laws, department knowledge and so on.

In the summer of '94 I also went to a whole bunch of computer courses at AMU Kalmar, where I became quite good at the commonest programmes, (ieMicrosoft Office). This was also the place where I first met Discworld MUD. I had already read a lot of books of Terry Pratchett, and stumbled across the mud when I tried to find a site where I could buy more. I didn't know what a MUD was at that time, but since then, I've spent many hours in front of the computer in the role of the Fish priest Svithiod... :).

My studies in Kalmar led to a MSc in biology, but I still wasn't quite satisfied with what I knew...my 'thread' had become almost lost again in paragraphs, types of earth and development plans... I had no 'peak' knowledge either. I was quite good at a lot of things, but not very good at anything..

This 'peak' was not to be found in Kalmar. So I checked out which courses there was concerning water and water life at the University of Gothenburg. It was quite easy for me to decide to move there, because the reason behind my decision to start studying again, was this love of the sea, water and waterlife .

So, now I got both a broad base and quite a good 'peak' as well (sometimes I feel like a pyramid, built of uni courses). :)

This 'broad base' also includes a shift from a working class family to academic class (if one can call it that). Because of this, I'm quite good at making friends, or at least get along, with anybody.

My hobbies include drawing, cooking, (watching) hockey, computers, going to the cinema, theathre or opera, survival, fishing, working on an old car (a Volvo 164 -71), diving (got a PADI AOW - certificate), etc.

This 'broad base' also includes a shift from a working class family to academic class (if one can call it that). Because of this, I'm quite good at making friends, or at least get along, with anybody.

Eventually, I was finished studying...but there are plenty more I could have studied, like archaeology, more chemistry, physics, history and culture. There is hardly anything I like better than learning and experiencing new things.

I cannot see the things I've studied or work with now as "just a job"...it's a calling. The old truth that we do not own the Earth, but only borrowing it from our children is something that people too easily forget.

Further adventures 2001-2004

After I had finished studying, I went back to Blekinge meanwhile looking for work.. I figured, if you're going to be without a job for while, you might as well be in a place where all your childhood friends are. I jumped at every little job there was which had any connection to what I had studied, but it was like it always is: Without any contacs and no experience it's hard getting jobs.
So, I had to be happy with short-term small project jobs: Assessing and valueing nature objects, fieldwork for the university of Stockholm, voluntary work, and lots of other small things. Not very fun. :( However, one of these short-term jobs was assessing biology in water courses for The County Adminstrative board of Gavleborg. There, I finally got at some longer term jobs as a project manager! :D.
Also, I was chairman at the local branch of the The Swedish Nature Conservancy Association.
I worked at the Board during four years. However, due to cutbacks in 2004, the job ended.

2004

So, instead of sitting alone up in Gaevle being out of a job, it felt better to go home to Blekinge again...though, just sitting around doing nothing would have driven me crazy in the end. I formed plans for starting up a consulting firm doing enviromental assesments, helping companies with legal services concerning the enviromental legislation, and other things within the biology/nature/aquatic field of work. A friend said he was interested as well, so the company was formed in late 2004. As he (the partner) lived in Gothenburg, and I love that town, I moved back there. It took a while, to get an apartment there, but finally I got one. :)

2005

Back in Gothenburg!! :D
The company was been started, and it felt d*mn good having something to do again. The name of the company was Fluvia Environ.

2006

The firm has now been running an entire year! A hideous amount of work, and not much more pay than I would have had just collecting social welfare. It did manage, but not much more. But it's better doing something then nothing. Tho, meanwhile, I did look for other jobs as well, and I'll be damned - I got one of them!! :D So, I became a bureau director at The County Adminstrative Board of Varmland, in Karlstad. Back to being a government official, and the job is steady and decently paid as well! :D
Karlstad seems to be a quite ok town. I suppose there is a great chance of me staying here for good... To be honest, it feels a bit weird...I've been moving from place to place for so long for ever, it seems. :).

2007

I've taken the decision to shut down the company. Having two jobs at the same time is quite hard. There has to be time to spend some of the money as well. It's a little sad, but it feels better to concentrate on just one job. And maybe start looking out for love... ;)

We'll see what happens. :)
