This is a page for a simple cat, which was also not so simple. It was my cat.

J A M I S
1991 ?/? - 2005 20/4

You died at the 20th of April, when the spring was coming. You died in my arms as I kissed and petted you softly. I called your usual name, and the secret ones only you and I knew.
As you laid there, I remembered you and the things we had done together. These are some of the things.
I remember when I got you. I had just done my military service and had moved away from home. Also, my girlfried had left a few months earlier. It was 1991, in spring. My mother came with you wrapped in a blanket, and you were so, so small. But you miaowed like a cat five timed bigger! I had never had a cat before. The first thing you did when my mother left was to follow me around everywhere. You laid down on my belly as I watched TV, and I asked you: "So - are you my cat?". You answered with a "mjiaooh", which I interpreted as a "yeah". :)
I remember you also followed me into the bathroom, when I was taking a bath. Sometimes, you even sat at the edge of the bathtub as I was taking a shower. You got wet, but you didn't seem to mind much. Once, I took a foam bath and played with my bigtoe in the foam. Of course you wanted to play as well...and you jumped after my toe, right into the water! You never made that mistake again! :)
I remember that after I had taken showers, I had lost your smell on me, so you wanted to "mark" me again. You usually wanted to do that as soon as possible, so you climbed my back (Yeeow!!) to cling to my shoulder, where you rubbed your face against mine. :)
I remember we used to play...you were in one room, and I went out. After a while, you came after me. Then, I used to jump out at you, which caused you to jump straight up into the air, with all four legs. Seeing you jump like that - straight up, with stiff legs, looked so silly I laughed right out. :) Then, you ran out into the first room. Then, we did it all over again! :)
I remember you were teriibly afarid of riding in cars. When I had to do that, you always sat in my lap, never mind traffic regulations! Though you sometimes got carsick, I did let you do that. You were the cat.
I remember when we played with a tennisball, and you missed a bounce, so you got it right on the nose. You were terribly afraid of tennisballs all the time since... I'm sorry.
I remember we used to "talk". You had different noises and different "miaows" and I knew everyone of them. I could usually find you what you wanted quite easily. :)
These are just a few of the happy memories I have of you.
Now, I have buried you near where you were born. I put your last can of tuna with you - let the archaeologists wonder about that in 500 years!
You will be missed, simple cat. My cat. Jamis.
