| December 3rd: This is a special report because it's not the end of a month. I just thought I'd add in a note all about the last little glipse we had of you before your birth. You are measuring a little bit small. You are a week behind in size but that makes mommy happy. Small baby means less pain does it not? Anyhow, I was soooo excited about finding out if you are a little boy or a little girl but you kept your feet crossed. Then when the technician thought she could see, you went and wiggled all over the place so she couldn't tell. I was incredibly disappointed but your daddy had the worlds biggest grin on his face. He was so glad I didn't find out. The more I think about it though the more special the birth will be because I'll be finding out at the same time as dad. Some other neat details were your heartbeat is 142 and you kept sucking on your fingers. I wonder if that will be a trait after you are born as well. Maybe I won't need any soothers...we'll just pop in the fingers!! We were a little dissapointed in the clarity of this ultrasound so I'll try to explain it a bit. Your one arm is going up and behind your head. Your other hand can be seen beside your tummy. You also have one little knee poking up. It appears that you are sucking your bottem lip in. You are absolutely adorable. Can't wait to meet you. |

| Month 6: Had the monthly doctors appointment and it all went well minus the fact I've gained 5 pounds this month!!! AHHH!!! Oh well. I'll just have to be careful to eat healthy stuff and put away the mint oreos. sigh.... your heartbeat was 150 and so the doctor told me that even though it's still kind of early to guess, he thinks you're a girl. I called daddy to tell him and he's still very confident you're a little boy. His comment was "Well we'll just have to see who's right". You are now 2 weeks smaller then my due date says but are developing normally and cute as a button. You are awake rolling around and kicking so much that I worry that either you're really uncomfortable or you are going to be a hyperactive baby. Oh well. I like it because I know you are strong and healthy when I feel those big kicks. I bought a neat little monitor so I get to listen to your heartbeat whenever I want. It's noisy in there!! No wonder you don't sleep! Daddy and I are booked to start prenatal classes in February. Time is flying. You will be here in only 3 short months!! Can't hardly wait! |

| Month 7: Well sweetheart, you got to see the doctor 2 times this month. At our first appointment we found out mommy had only gained 4 pounds. That was a shock because I've sure grown alot. But then we found out you have gone through a major growth spurt. You are now 2 weeks ahead of your due date. You should only measure 28 weeks but are measuring 30 weeks and so I have to go have a blood suger test to make sure it's not from gestational diabetes. Your heartbeat is also starting to slow down yet is still strong and healthy so maybe you're a boy after all. At night daddy has been reading to you. Of course it's because I asked him to but he didn't ccomplain. I think he likes it. He reads you poems by patterson. He can't wait to read to you for real because mommy doesn't care for poetry as much as daddy likes to read it (out loud). Mom came home from the second appointment very sad. There are only 2 things that mommy wants to avoid at all costs when you are born. The first is a c-section. There are lots of reasons but the main one is I don't like the idea of having such an artificial birth. Plus I hear its so much harder to get your abs back since they cut through muscle. The second thing is I don't want an epidural. I know almost everyone these days has them but I hate the idea of a needle filled with anesthtic that big going into my spine. I guess I'm a bit of a naturalist. Anyhow....the appointment....the doctor tells me you are breech and to start thinking about a c-section if you don't turn in the next few months. He claims lots of times the baby does turn on it's own, but he doesn't want me to be surprised if they have to do the section. We'll have another ultrasound if you're still upside down at the end of next month. The other thing I learned is that you are measuring 34 weeks and should be about 30. You are getting sooo big! WOW! Oh well...chubby babies are the cutest ones. On the bright side of things, I don't have diabetes!! Other things this month: You've introduced mommy to some intense middle back pain and swollen ankles but I am excited thinking it's all signs that you are almost here to snuggle with. All the scary medical stuff.....worth it for you. Plus when I look at our friend little baby Holt's mommy I realize I have had a very easy 7 months and it's been so amazing watching you grow. You don't kick as much anymore but you sure roll around lots which is really really neat. I love to see a little body part roll from one side to the next. That's all for this month. | ||||||
