Month 8: Oops. I wrote this earlier and then deleted it. I will have to try and remember what it said which is hard to do with pregnant brain but here it is. Our first doctors appointment was pretty routine. As your unbiased mother though, I must admit you are the best behaved baby in the world. I told you to hurry and go bum up so we wouldn't have to think about c-section....and you did!! Thank you sweety!! You're still a bit big. I am 33 weeks and you measure 35. That's okay though. We had our pre-natal class this month. It was really interesting to see where you'd be born etc....but I'm not sure we learned too much we didn't already know. Daddy learned massage which was pretty nice. We had our next appointment at almost 35 weeks. The doctor did an internal and found that you have dropped quite low ( i think I knew that before we went to the doctor. I feel like I'm squishing you when I sit down). Usually that means baby will be here in 2-4 weeks but it could be longer. In the doctors opinion you will be born very close to your due date if not a little early. I'm so excited about that. No offence baby dear but I'm falling asleep at work from lack of sleep at night and it will be sooo great to be pain free. |

Month 9: Well as I start this it's not quite the 9th month. I just didn't want to forget to write that Jenna Marie Holt was born on February 23rd at 11pm. She weighed 8lbs 11ozs. I hope you two will be good friends. Well peanut....there will be alot more appointments this month so I'll try to keep it brief. An interesting fact this month is that morning sickness has come back. But at least it's predictable this time. I wake up and have breakfast, lay down for a few extra minutes of sleep, then wake up and lose breakfast! Doctor says there are lots of reasons it can come back and that it's okay. Our normal dr. was on vacation so we saw another one. He said it looked like you'd be hangin' out with me for awhile longer which was kinda depressing. Don't get me wrong sweety I'd just rather you hang out with me on the outside so we can snuggle. He also told me I tested positive for group B strep which means we have to be on IV antibiotics while you're born and after as well I think. This bacteria can cause menengitis or pneumonia in newborns so I'm glad they caught it. Right now daddy is in school and he can only get 2 days off before he's kicked out so we'd really appreciate it if you'd be born close to a weekend 'k? Love you lots. I forgot to mention that the stretch marks are comming fast and furious. I feel so ugly but such is life. Appoint #2: HAd a wonderful appointment. The doctor isn't going to let me go more then a week overdue because you are so big!!! He thinks you're somewhere around 8 pounds already and will be over 9 at birth. He says I don't look like I'm carrying a big baby because you're so low. I wasn't scared before but.....oh well. I think the fatter the cuter. I hope you have big plump cheeks. Appoint #3: We are 2 cm down and 8 left to go. The doc did something called stripping membranes today to help things along so we wait and see what happens. He thinks this will be a fast and easy delivery. Somewhere between 4 and 6 hours. Hmmm.....I guess we'll see. The other exciting news....I've lost .2 kilos. It's always nice to lose weight without trying. Appoint #4: So this was the very last appointment. So hard to believe. The doctor says we're likely about 4cm now and he did another stretch and sweep. This time it was so painful and I had back cramps all night. He said sometimes it helps things along and if it works we'll see baby within 24hours. Well kiddo your time is up. Don't blame you though. It's a cold day today so you should stay inside and keep warm for another day or so. The doctor is worried about your size so I am not going any over due. I will be induced and you will be brought into the world on Tuesday March 30, 2004. That is the same day as mommy and daddy's second year anniversary. Hope you don't mind sharing the day. We love you lots sweety and look forward to lots of cuddles soon. |
