| Month 1: I've been feeling very good just a little bit tired. This month was almost over when I found out we were expecting. | ||||||||
| Month 2: I still don't feel very pregnant yet. Hard to believe you're actually there in my belly. Have had a few weird cravings like toast with pizza sauce on it and lemon water. I'm not too fond of chicken right now. Still feeling good physically. | ||||||||
| Month 3: Well morning sickness and migraine headaches have hit with a vengeance. I am throwing up a lot and nothing seems to help. I have learned that you don't like me to drink tea, and orange juice on an empty stomach makes me sick. I'm glad I don't start my job at the Stoney Plain hospital as a speech assistant until the middle of the month. We have managed to keep the pregnancy a secret and are just now starting to tell people. We had our first doctors appointment this month. We got to hear your little heart beating away at about 150. It was so reassuring to know you're really there. A little later we had our first ultrasound. You were so adorable. You were curled up face down but you gave a kick and a really good punch and rolled yourself over. We got to see this perfect little spine and an arm with 5 little fingers. Daddy and I can't wait until we can hold you. We couldn't tell yet if you are a little boy or a little girl but we have picked out a name for each and hope to find out at the 5 month ultrasound. If you are a girl you will be Hayley Anna. If you are a boy, Kieran Ross. | ||||||||
| Month 4: I have started work and thankfully have started getting over the all day morning sickness. I know what sets me off now and I try to avoid those things. The worst is bad smells and headaches. I get a headache everyday but if it gets too bad a Tylenol takes it away. One of my supervisors at work is due 2 weeks before me. I also found out that one of the young couples in our Wednesday nights meeting (Fraiser and Janelle Holt) are due exactly a month before us. We have decided to go to prenatal aqua size together. I have started outgrowing all my clothes. It is very exciting and a little frustrating all at the same time. Daddy and I went to the mountains for the thanksgiving long weekend since we figure it'll be awhile before we get away just the 2 of us for a long time. Daddy wouldn't let me go in the hot tub all weekend even though I really wanted to. He loves you so much and he's so scared something will happen to you. I caught a bad cold but the doctor says it won't hurt you any so that's good. Had another doctors appointment. It took awhile to find your heartbeat because you kept kicking at the dopler machine and making it squeal. I laughed thinking you already have a little temper. Eventually they found it and it was 144. The doctor said the ultrasound showed sub chorionic bleeding but he isn't concerned at all because it's not coming from the placenta. He says that I may spot a bit but not to worry. Didn't work..I'm very worried. I'm so scared that we are going to lose you. Please stay healthy. We also learned that you are measuring the perfect size. I'm not so worried about having a 20 pound monster now. I have only gained 2 pounds this month. Daddy will be surprised when I tell him. I have gone from a size 10 bathing suit to a size 16, so he laughs and says I'll hit 200 pounds by the time all is said and done. I'd better not! | ||||||||
| Month 5: I think this has by far been the most exciting month. I felt your first definite kick at 18 weeks. I was sitting in a really confusing and stressful meeting all about stats and data entry and other boring stuff panicking and thinking I have no clue whats going on when suddenly you kicked about 6 or 7 times. It was the most amazing feeling. You made that meeting go so much faster. Daddy felt your first kick at about 20 weeks. You like to push out on my stomach so dad got to feel the hard lump that was you. Every day we get more and more excited. We cant wait to see you. At my doctors appointment this month I heard that you are growing just fine and your little heart was beating away perfectly well. The doctor told me I may never get real big because I am so long waisted so not to worry if people are telling me Im too small for my dates because Im not. I was also happy to see I had only gained 9 pounds since the start of your life. Thats less then most people have gained at this point but still healthy. Ive been going to prenatal aquasize and loving it. Im hoping its helping to keep us healthy. Dad and I get our last pre-birth peek at you on December 3rd. Ill be 23 weeks so Ill write all about it in month 6. Not long now until I am in my 3rd trimester. Wow! Is time ever going fast!!! I wonder if I should be getting nervous about the whole birth thing. Just go easy on me okay sweety? Im a wimp. | ||||||||
