Monday Night Ladies League Rules

  1. Play starts on May 12th and ends September 8th.  The final fun night and banquet will be held September 15th.

  1. Match play, 25 possible points each match.

    1. One point per hole won (1/2 point each if tied.)
    2. Two points to winner of match (Low net score)
    3. Three points to winner of team match (Low net score)
    4. If a team forfeits, that team gets no points.  The opposing team plays against the forfeit chart and receives points accordingly.  They automatically get 7 points.  This rule also applies to teams playing a bye.  You must play to get the points.

  1. Handicap is figured based on 80% of the difference between the player’s average and par.  The average is based on the player’s previous four rounds.  It will be determined after the 1st round for each player or sub, and the score for that round will be figured using the handicap.

  1. League fees are $25.00 per person, and payable by the 2nd week of play.  Money is used for awards, trophies, and dinner on the last night.  The last night of golf’s green fees must be paid to the course by the 5th week.

  1. The season will be divided into 2 halves with play-offs as follows:

*1st place from 1st half plays 1st place from 2nd half.

*If the same team wins both halves, the 2nd place of 1st half and the 2nd place of 2nd half

play for 2nd place.

*Play offs will be played with the lowest handicap at the end of the season after the first 4 weeks.

  1. It was voted to not make up any rain outs.  In the event of a rainout you miss playing that team.  If 3 4-somes, starting during our time frame, finish 5 holes before a rainout is declared, everyone else must make up. If play starts and is called because of rain, any scores will not count unless agreed upon by a league vote.  If you assume the league is cancelled, but it does play, your team will forfeit.  It is your responsibility to call Shamrock Hills.

  1. No team may golf by themselves on a league night without prior approval from their opponents.

  1. After waiting until 6:15 with no contact from the opposing team, the waiting team can begin play.

  1. When jumping holes, please jump at least 2 holes in front of the team behind you.

  1. Any league member or player with course membership may enter the Hole-In-One jar.  You must put 25 cents in the jar and sign your name BEFORE you go out to play.  Remember you must be playing in a three-some.

  1. League members or substitutes who wish to participate in the Special Event Pot must put in $1.00 and sign their name BEFORE going out to play.

  1. Winter rules apply over entire course (6” using head of club) except in hazards.  In a sand trap you may rake and drop your ball.  Holes 7, 11, and 14 treat as a waste bunker.  Play ball from where it lands, but you can ground your club.

  1. Out-of-bounds is a one stroke penalty with no loss of distance.  Drop ball laterally to where it went out.

  1. Lost ball is a one stroke penalty with no loss of distance.  Use discretion on time spent looking for lost balls.  No more than 5 minutes.  There is no penalty for a ball lost in a fairway if all agree it was in that fairway.

  1. Unplayable lie is a one stoke penalty.  The ball must be dropped within 2 club lengths to either side or straight back toward tee in flight line.

  1. Any ball coming to rest in-bounds but next to a man-made hazard (benches, hoses, etc.) may be dropped 2 club lengths away without penalty, but not closer to the hole.

  1. Our league only, hole #10 is NOT out of bounds on the left.  If you hit the ball into the pond you must place the ball behind the pond.

  1. There is a 3 times over par stroke limit for each hole.  (Par 3=9 stroke limit; par 4=12 stroke limit; par 5=15 stroke limit.)

  1. In the event that you can not play on a Monday, it is the responsibility of the team to contact their opponent before their scheduled arrival time or it will be considered a forfeit. If only one player shows then that person may golf against both opponents.  In the case of an emergency the score from the most recent time on that nine will be used.  All make-up matches must be made by the Sunday following your scheduled night.  You may also have subs for the scheduled night.  Please inform league secretary and opponents of any forfeits or changes.  If you play on the weekend, you must pay weekend rates.  League members are responsible for sub’s green fees.  You are also responsible for green fees in the event of a forfeit.

  1. Hole #8 if your tee shot goes in the water you may drop on the island and hit #3.  The drop spot on the island is by the cart path.  If the ball goes in the water, no matter how it got there, you must play as stated above.  You cannot play it from where it went into the water.

  1. Hole #2-the net by #3 is out of bounds.  It is a 1 stoke penalty.  Drop the ball 2 club lengths from where it hit the net.

  1. Hole #3-the net is NOT out of bonds unless your ball lands to the left of the net, in the neighbors yard.

Have fun!
